Thank you! I was struggling with this stitch and watched several videos. I got to yours and you explained it so much better. I think I've got it now!!!

This is great. Finally someone who knits English style. Can't follow euro/Us style of holding the needles to do this.

I wish I’d watched this video a long time ago…how well explained especially when knitting with yarn you cant see well. Thank you so much

Thanks for this. I'm working on a pattern with dark yarn and twisted rib. This was the best explanation to identify which right leg to pick up.

Neat! I’ll try this for toe ups. Thanks

Thanks for your comment on 2 at a time socks. I didn't think of the possibility of making the same mistake on both socks!! I hate to correct mistakes! I will try a for up sock. Thanks for your video of Left and right lifted increases.

Thanks for this; will try on my next pair of socks. I think Lifted increases will be easier for me to remember rather than M1L and M1R, since I always have to look those up before using them. Quick question: I recently saw your Addi Flexi Flips demo; are DPN's your preferred method for knitting socks? Do you ever use magic loop to knit 2-at-a-time?

Good question. Until the FlexiFlips came out, DPNS were my preferred sock knitting method. However, I am also fluent in magic loop (both single sock and two at a time). I don't like knitting socks 2aat because without fail I end up making the same mistake in both socks and don't notice it for many rnds. Then, fixing things becomes very time consuming and tedious. Yuck!

I like this lifted increase better than other increases. Can you show how to do it on a purl side? (It's probably not called for too often, but I'm not sure!) Thanks!

Can you do a video with the lifted increases versus the make one left and right? I would like to see the results of both to compare.

You may want to check out the learning library on our website. The section on increasing, www.thechillydog.com/increasing/ has photo tutorials for both increases and you can see how they look.

@@thechillydog Thanks. I will do this. I am following my pattern; but I am really curious about the differences and the resulting product.

Are these interchangeable on toes? So many vids say to use R lifted at the beggining of the row and L lifted (leaning at the end of the row) I think I need to play with this :)

There's more than one way to knit a toe ;) and yes, you should play with it a little. The type (lifted, make 1, etc.) and slant of increase you use at the sides of the toe will change the look, but that's part of the fun. Sometimes it is imperceptible to anyone but a knitter. Sometimes it creates a really pretty design element.
