Thanks for this story Brian, never knew that about Sykes. I knew Lee from club Havana, he was always sound with me and thought I was a sound lad. I spoke to Lee in Havana on the night he got killed. Sad that he died too young. RIP Lee.

Just subscribed to your channel bri and listened to a few of stories. Your stories are as good if not better than watching some good movies. A little story about Lee you might like 😉 Well its not a story as such its a stunt he did il never forget. I lived in Jubilee Road, Eston at the time about the mid 80s, (bought my first house) well I came out my front door and heard this all mighty loud raw sound coming from a motorbike engine in the direction of Bankfelids Road. I looked up towards the top of Jubilee Road near Bankfelids Road and seen this lad (it was Lee) with his top off and he suddenly lifted the front end up of the motor crosser bike and I swear to god no word of a lie if Lee was here now he would tel you the same (I can still picture it in my head) Well he wheelied the huge motor crosser bike all the way down from the top of Jubilee Road with no top on to the bottom of Eston Square at a mental speed, il never forget that moment ever bri, unreal, what a lad he was. I saw a video of him just now. He reminded me of my stepdad he was a bully too. 6'6 but felt like a big man squaring up to me and hitting me til my lights were put out I was around 8 years old. He's alcoholic and in a wheelchair now. Thanks for sharing the information it's good to hear there were men that are more than capable of putting these people in there place.

Bloody hell Samuel that's a disgusting way to treat a kid. It reminds me of the stories of Lenny McClean's Stepdad. I'm no hard case and I couldn't even imagine a situation where I'd spark an 8 year old clean out. Well he can't hurt you now. @@jamiewulfyr4607 it took me a long time to get past it all had counselling from age 8 to 12 a few moves across the country in the fostercare system. The thing with bullies like that is it gets worse it starts off just a smack before I knew it my supposed protector (mum) would take herself and my siblings to another room while I was left with the stepdad. Started out making me stand in front of him for hours until I was dizzy. I would get a smack across the knees with a table leg when I tried sitting back down from light headedness. Eventually it was getting woken up to being strangled waking up adrenaline just racing. I'm 29 now and still have a fast resting heart rate. I wish I knew where he was now I would finish his existence. I got the update about him from my sister who's still in touch with my alcoholic mother I haven't had anything to do with her myself since i put myself into Foster care when I was 8 I just ran to my nans covered in bruises one morning and was put straight into fostercare after being photographed at the hospital. Thing that annoys me is not knowing who my real dad is and being singled out for abuse by my mum because I reminded her of him. I was the only one beaten starved and separated from everything joyful a kid experiences growing up. I have a young daughter now with my ex and find it hard to relate to her and be a dad myself. The Nick manners story is a funny one about Sykes, when he fought on the undercard to Henry Wharton at Elland Road. This was big news at the time. Sykes was a massive bully boy. Him and his cronies used to "tax" young kids and old men around Ossett (Just outside Wakefield) in his later years, before he ended up on the streets

Petite and France was the name of the motorbike shop Bri/Emma , me my brother and Emma's nephew's (carl and jamie) used to play football round the back which is now the entrance to farm foods and my oldest brother used to work in the Q8 garage which is on station road side and I remember when he was outside filling a car , I was inside helping myself to a mars bar, good times. Remember seeing that documentary on Sykes when I was young thinking what an animal…. Then I grew up and herd the story’s from the people who new him properly and thought what a different type of animal…. Looking bk now I think what did he do to them kids off his over than mental and physical abuse they were doomed from the start…. And that clip of him getting married I watched it as an adult and through to myself someone in that room should of saved that young lady and her kids…. The way he was talking to her and everyone… the look on her face…. It’s hard to watch knowing the man he was …. And like you say people feared him and did nothing….
