Lyrics:
Everything I do gohn be funky
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on
I have to be myself and do my thing
A little soul can't do no harm, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Some may say I've got no class
But I'm doing what I wanna do
So go with me if you can
Or just do what you can do
Oh, shucks
Why you whining
I'm on fire
Yeah, everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on
Never before have I felt so good
Just being natural me
My little hang up and my little times
But deep inside, I'm free
Let your hair down, get down wings
Who's to say what's right or wrong
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on
Yeah, everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on, yeah
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on
Everything I do gohn be
Funky from now on
Oh, shucks, do your thing

“And everything I do is funky like Lee Dor-Sey!”
House had a really great soundtrack. That show has introduced me to a lot of damn fine music. If you haven't already check out Eddie Harris - Listen here. Another House special.
The spoken intro was by the white engineer Rodney Mills. It was spoken as the "slate" for the recording so you would know what the song was. Alan Tousaint kept it on the record. Rodney worked with Alan on some Meters also. Rodney is an influential producer/engineer. In addition to his work on some of the biggest rock records, he also engineered the music for "The Amen Break"

"He also engineered the music for "The Amen Break" Wow, dude, this actually explains a lot, drums parts on Dorsey's music struck me so hard, there all great, the sound, the rythm patterns... There's more than a break in thee songs that screams "SAMPLE ME FOR A CLASSIC HIP HOP BREAKBEAT".

Saw Jon Cleary last Friday....he was taking lots of requests and played brilliantly & funky. I should asked for this!
Beastie boys
Ten points for the connection between this song and Dexy's Midnight Runners... Too easy?
Is it am or pm? I have to wonder?
Does somebody have notes of it? Pleeeeease
no city ever had a sound quite so distinct as new orleans and allen toussaint was there from the late 1950s on to write, arrange and produce many of its greatest R&B hits.
I witnessed this when it happened, but tracks from this album or any track from this (a movement to the outside of the genre box) music, didn’t get much air play, or billing attention. At the time my boss, Promoter/DJ 91.3 WTSR Randy “Now!” Ellis, rose to Legendary N.J. Underground Icon, due to his love and appreciation of the music scene and who is still a presence, about that time began tour managing for G.W.A.R. In their launch out of Richmond , and VA, or you would have gotten a lot more exposure and mention, my neighborhood clique , I prefer circle of dudes who like to hang out and listen to hard heavy fast brutal and intense music until law enforcement does a slow ride by and bwoops the siren /or ssearch light at night caught “Who Died And Made You God!?” On MTV’s Headbangers Ball, where y’all did an interview with Ricky Rachtman, and were putting the word out for local lodging, or couch space while on tour, we tried to hook y’all up! Learned that MTV didn’t always answer the phone, or return calls, and they didn’t record the show on the same weekend that they aired it. We were diggin Gothic Slam, wondered how things worked out for y’all! Glad to know you’re still down to earth! Now Tour!! “Reverb” Music Venue, 1402 N.9th Street Reading, Pa, Michell Massina, Championships Bar, on Chambers St. In Trenton, NJ. “Stop Options” if you do come around! Also, You’re Welcome! I enjoyed the song!
... :-)... This is kind of easier at 80 t h a n it was at 50, or even 20 or 10!... From now on...
Lee was wilfully disregarded in the UK in the 1970swhich was a shame. I was a disco DJ then we are tried to get audiences interested - but it didn't take. Such a shame.
Funky people from now on.....
Beastie Boys brought me here after referenced in Sure Shot.
