I’ve always used the Led Lenser products and had them for many years. I fish a lot in Croc country and I can’t wait to try this one out in the near future. Looks the goods though. 👣

I have one! This is a great headlamp as you can dim the light all the way from 600lm dow to 15lm. Also, the beam is adjustable in terms of how wide it shines. Double tap for max power mode. No more clicking to find the right brightness! This is great is you are doing fast pased sports and do not want the beam to go off. You want to change brightness. If you are at full brightness mist headlamps turn of and another brings it to the minimum light mode. But that can ve dangerous. With this, you can adjust without killing your light in between or accidentally skipping and you have to click extra times. Wow. And the 180 degree angle ajust is easy and goid if you have your head not pointint exactly right like you can look up with your eyes but most headlamps cant do that and you have to turn your head like an eagle (they cant roll their eyes, its akward but they have almost 360 vision since theyr eyes are on the side of theyr head)

Thanks for your very helpful video, I have just got a H7R core from my grandchildren, it appears to take along time to charge up using the supplied charger , is this normal for first time use.

hi, how long battery last? is that nay improvment over 18650 vs 21700? h8r have 10h 600lm and this claim 4h 600lm ?

Best battery 18650 has capacity 3400 mAh. For 21700 - it is about 5000 mAh. So it could have 30% more energy. But this battery is heavier. H8R has 10h for 600 lm theoretically, but in fact, light becomes weaker for next every hour you use it. For H7R Core - it has Constant Current technology - it means that it keeps light power for full time, till battery discharge to 0%. But it lights shorter time, but for full 100% power. It is better solution for me. So if you look into tables about how long battery last (H8R vs H7R Core) - you could be confused. Please remember about Constant Current technology.

H7R.2 owner, hardly used birthday gift, but yesterday used it on a night run, got back from my run which was in very heavy rain, seems that the unit does not like getting wet as the controls for the front LED became inoperable, On/off switch intermittent then stopped working altogether, leaving the front LED on. I did manage to get the unit to turn off briefly, only for it to come back on again 30 seconds later, screaming of water ingress to the circuitry.! lamp remains on until I took the battery out. So, left the unit somewhere warm and this morning seems to be working again. I thought these were supposed to be waterproof for use outdoors!!! Quite disappointing.

I don't see why the super bright light can only be used for 10 seconds before it goes dim. I wanted to use this headlamp for night time trail running, so its not much use to me for that purpose. I now use an older model Ledlenser which does the job. A bit disappointing...

FINALLY a manufacturer who has understood that a stepless rotary control is the only reasonable method to adjust the brightness-level! 😌 And also that a focusable light is a MUST! I just don't like having a battery-pack in the back of my head 😔 You can't comfortably lean back against a wall/headrest (i.e while using this as a reading light) 😕 Or is it possible to carry the batterypack in your pocket instead?

I have owned 2 H7s & 1 H14R over a few decades. I have not been impressed with their longevity. Both H7s failed at the mounting hinge. They are earlier models than this one though. The H14R failed as the cable jacket rotted and fell apart, exposing the wiring, also, 20 min of light rain cause water ingress into the front lamp. It did dry out again over several months but still, not good for an outdoor product. I note that current models do seem better sealed. Don't know about the longevity of materials though. Personally I expect better longevity from such an elite expensive brand. I don't think they have delivered in the past. My H14 has a dual battery type ( flat Li_ion/ normal AA) case which I found really handy in the field as I could carry cheap and easily obtainable backup cells. The H7 doesn't support that at all & is Li-ion only. That can be an issue for occasional use as Li-ion need to be used constantly to maintain battery health. Long periods in storage kills the cells permanently. Also, the lights do not have a red light to preserve night vision. That's extremely important for hikers and fishos. There are seriously better & much cheaper options in that regard even if they are not as powerful. Going with white light only, you just need a lot more power as your night vision is toast.

@@AUNZAnon Since writing that, I have purchased 2 new heat torches but it;s too early for feedback. one is the NightCore NU32, the other is a Led Lenser H7 Core. What I like about the NU32 is that I can access the red light immediately without cycling through other functions, especially white light functions. It also has some water and impact resistance, not a lot though. The H7 core is very bright with good run time for it's size & weight. No red light though. I expect it to be reasonably ok for walking out of bushland and spotting landmarks for night navigation. However, that is product expectations, not experience with them. I was really reluctant to chance another Led Lenser, but it was on special & I had vouchers for that shop as well. PS , I discovered my H14 with rotted cabling came with an extension lead that appears OK as it's never been used. I plan to replace the existing rotted cable with the extension cable. A little wire trimming and soldering required, but that is easy for me to do.

Curious to know what the weight is like on your head? Do you find its evenly distributed? Cheers!

Hey pal I dont really notice the weight on this model as well as the next model H15r which is heavier again...you only notice the weight when the headlamp has the battery encapsulated in the front aswell...If the battery is on the back and the lamp is on the front and weight is evenly distributed I dont tend to notice...hope that makes sense 👌👌
