    Another great video, thanks. I have had quite a few LEDLENSER head torches and I agree that one of their best features is their beam focusing. Really liked all of the accessories, definitely makes it very versatile.

    I have the older German made Ledlenser MH8R uses two AA batteries , it has three R,B,G led extra light, magnetic charging etc...brilliant headtorch. The only caveat is there is no batterypower indicator and the AA batteries are too small and underpowered, I am slowly buying all the R core series,have the new P7Rcore ...enjoying it has a nice big 3v 21700 sized battery , battery imdicator etc...Next on my list will be the Headlamp R series...probably this one H7R core...they are expensive here in South Africa...but necesary with all our crime,electricity failures...Our Gov never ever for 25 years ever do maintenance on the Electric Grid.

    Hi thank you for sharing your experience.. I have used many head lamps from many different brands.... Many years ago Ledlenser woukd not have been my preferred brand but now they definitely are.. Particularly in the H7R Core.. It is simple powerful enough and robust. Let's hope Ledlenser can keep improving it by simply making it lighter and smaller as battery technology improves... ATB Tom

    Hi Phil, I love Ledlenser products too. I have been very impressed with all of the ones that I have tested. They have such a great choice of products, for so many activities. The fact that you can focus the beam works so well as it then does both jobs of giving a spot and flood light. You can decide on what type of beam that you want. ATB Tom

    In South Africa, if one goes outside at night you will get mugged,robbed,beaten by thugs and criminals. I enjoy watching UK videos of folks testing torches without being mugged. I have the LedlenserP7R core and it is very bright, works well, nice 21700 rechargeable battery, you can reprogramme the core unit to have strobe and sos as part of the functions...it is a bit complicated. I want to get this one too for headlight hikes in the mountains (our mountain areas have less criminals hanging around) and nighttime neighbourhood watch patrols. Thanks, Enjoy your outdoors:)

    Hi Swami, I hope you are well. Thank you for your comments here. Sorry to hear of your issues with crime in South Africa.. Strange that I watched a video a few days ago on the world's most dangerous roads.. South Africa came up due to car jacking... I was amazed at this and disgraceful to see.. We have a small community of South Africa people in Northern Ireland and they say the Sam as you.. Where I camp we have a number car parks in the mountains and on my last trip one of them had a burnt out car in it..... so I changed my plans... So serious crime still about here too but I guess not on your level.. Hopefully at some point your government can get it under control soon.. ATB Tom

    Hi Tom, I watched a few reviews including yours so I'll give you a quick review on my experience with the H7R Core. After unpacking it, first it wouldn't take a charge, so had to use a very long big screwdriver to open battery pack, with great difficulty got it open, battery out then in and it charged up, used it for a summit camp then I charged it on arrival back home and as it was winter climbing season I used my Petzl as it's lighter. After 4 weeks in my drawer I was heading for another summit camp only to find no charge and again had to go through all the hassle again....I wouldn't like to try and change batteries out on a 3 day winter wild camp unless I had a decent size tool. Conversely my old Petzl had been lying in a drawer for months and still had a charge. The H7R definitely has a good beam and easy to use but I'm very disappointed in the overall experience I've had and wonder if some of your viewers have experienced this. To be honest I wish I'd got the petzl nano or maybe I've been unlucky. ATP Tom Cheers Jim.

    Hi Jim, thank you for sharing your experience and I am really sorry to hear that it was a bad one. I have had this lamp, the H7r Core, the H15r core and now the H19R Signature and extensively used them all with no faults at all.. I reality you just must have been very unlucky but I understand that this is frustrating. However Ledlenser have a 7 year warranty if registered and two years if not so you should have no worries at all in them replacing it for you. Regarding opening the battery pack... I know its a bit tight but I find a coin or the back of a key with a round curved top works better that a screwdriver as a screwdriver is not the right shape... I hope that you get sorted as this light is one of my favourites.... ATB Tom

    I think once my existing lenser head torch dies I’ll replace it with this. Great looking thing and I agree about the build quality of their products. They just feel quality. Unfortunately my new tent has bankrupted me for now 😂 so I’ll have to keep using the one I’ve got for a bit longer. When you compared it to the car headlights was mad. It was just as bright. I’ve got a watch with the magnetic power lead. And yeah. It’s easy to knock it off. Still if you set it up and leave it shouldn’t be an issue. Look forward to your comparison soulo review. Atb 👍

    Fantastic review Tom 👏 I think it's time I upgrade mine now 😀 I completely agree on the magnetic charging feature. The only way I think it works well is if you can mount it to a wall in a garage or something like that. If you lose 2the cable, no other cable will do, which is a worry. Still looks a cracking unit and one I'm going to look at. Cheers. Adam.

    If the 3v batteries are removable, you can buy 18650/21700/ 3v and seperate battery chargers for these 3v online as much as you can afford, I personally buy 3 extra batteries ,charge them all up and rotate them accordingly. The inhouse magnetic charging is just a bonus...and the ledbutton tells you howmuch battery power in it. I have converted to all the RCore series with battery indicator on it , as I got tired of using a torch in the middle of night when there is a loud noise and lo my old tech torch batteries were flat...yuck. Definately I am buying only R series models with battery indicator. Godbless,Shine your Ligjht:)

  • @TOMHEANEY100

    @TOMHEANEY100

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi thank you for watching.. The signature is an extra 100 lumen on the high eg 700 instead of 600. Boost on the signature is 1200 standard H7 1000.. Not much light difference but just so many attachments on the signature for cycling etc making it very versatile.. ATVB and hope this helps..

    Great review Tom. Strangely enough, I have been looking at upgrading my 250 lumen head torch to something a lot more powerful. I really like the torch you reviewed can go up to 1200L, doesn’t flicker and has a wide angle option. What do you find is the right amount of lumens for the general hiker?

  • @TOMHEANEY100

    @TOMHEANEY100

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Barry, thank you I think 600 lumen is good if it can constantly run at this level for at least 3 hours. Any more powerful and the units get a bit heavy and bulky. It is handy if a light has a boost function too for a short time like most of the Ledlenser's. ATB Tom

    Hi.... Lupine Lights are the top of the food chain when it comes to lights.... Just be wary of your lumen output as if your Lupine light had over 1000 then you will notice a fair difference here.. the big asset of this light is its versatility in that it can be used as an amazing head lamp and a very good bike light.. Last night I had a camp and I used the H19r Signature and you can get one of those for not too much money... It will perform fantastic as a bike light due to the combination of spot and flood beam.. Have a think about that.... best wishes Tom

And lastly was wondering if the hf8rs on and off button is friendly as the h7r sig. I feel like h7rsig is much more friendly in that aspects. Cheers@@TOMHEANEY100

    @@davidko6946 Hi David, always pros and cons.. Definitely the HF8R has more noticeable weight at the front but if you use the overhead strap then it's very comfortable. BUT this is a risk for you because if you look for it you will find it.. Operation of the H7R Signature its a big plus from the simple on and off and the dimming function... I still prefer the HF8R due to its lighter weight, more compact and more power.. The H7r Core suffers a bit in that you can have spot or flood beams but when its on spot you have no or very little flood and if you want a wide flood then you have not great distance... The new HF8R allows you to have both... I hope that helps.. Tom

  • @TOMHEANEY100

    @TOMHEANEY100

    Hi Brian, no rear light as this would reduce run times on the front light and probably not be that bright and if it was then it would really reduce the run times of the front one if you know what I mean.. There are multiple attachment brackets that come with this light. Yes there is a helmet attachment one as well. Not to say that it will fit every helmet but then no light does.
