No, no one should ever cover this - ever. It's perfection being the final song on the final album. 😢 RIP Bonzo.

It's a beautiful song 🎵 You probably already know the deal w this song. It's the last song, on their last album - John Bonham, their drummer died a little over 13 months later. Bonzo does some incredible fuzz or buzz rolls into and out of the guitar solo. Jimmy's guitar solo sounds like it's crying. Jonesy's keyboards are immaculate. Robert's voice is great, bc he finally got to rest his voice for a real significant break from July 1977 to Nov of 1978. Robert had nodules growing on his vocals cords in 1973, as his voice began to change - his voice got grizzled and rough. Robert had the nodules removed in late 1973 and didn't get to rest his vocals cords bc Led Zeppelin began recording for Physical Graffiti in Jan of 1974. His voice had struggled due to nodules. He revealed the surgery finally in 1988 and said [the surgerywas 15 years ago]

Last track on their last album (1979). Fittingly a Blues tune but with JPJ's synths it's a stand-out masterpiece. Another great LZ song you never hear on the radio.

ITTOD is their final studio album. Coda is next and final album, it was rumored to fill a contractual obligation and assembled from the 12 year run and is comprised of discarded and shelved songs with a studio recorded "concert" item from Bonham. Coda is considered clunky but so worth the listen with some incredible music. Check out Wearing and Tearing, I can't quit you baby, Bonzo's Montreux and Traveling Riverside Blues on Coda deluxe. Just joined..

My ego is going to assume that this is in response to the comment I made about how you can't have a top 10 unless you've heard the entire catalog. That in addition to how I had gotten turned on by this song as of recent, having heard it many times over decades, and how Led Zeppelin songs will effect you different ways at different times. This is the last song they ever made 😔

It's fun! I've been with you since RT 1.0 til now, R2T2 (as I think of you). And you have a soft spot or a penchant for the off-the-beaten-track Zep tunes. Good for you, man. I watch for all new Zep, Floyd, Who, Dire Straits, Jethro Tull, Rush, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Supertramp reactions... and most folks only do the ultra- popular ones. So I LOVE when questing folks like you look among the hidden gems. See what you keep finding? Priceless treasures! Hi from Canada- peace and be safe.
