During the Heart performance at the Kennedy Center many attribute Robert getting a tear in the eye to the performance by Heart (taking nothing away from that) but I did read an article after in which Robert hinted at his thoughts being all around John seeing Jason on that stage… those tears were for a dear and lost friend. No doubt I agree with you Wayne, Robert can’t go back… between the loss of his son and best friend we all must understand why there was no tour after the 02 Arena… In that performance you can tell Robert had the hardest time getting through “Stairway…” there is a real sadness in his voice.

Wayne... good to see you doing some Zeppelin again. Great choice! one of my favorites actually. I would like to make a suggestion if i could while i'm here. If you do any Aerosmith in the future i would highly recommend the song "Seasons of Wither" its kind of a power ballad. Good stuff though nonetheless. Steven Tyler said its his favorite Aerosmith song which says a lot.

Wayne, sorry i never got to you while you were still actively posting. Though I miss your posts, I understand. It is good to see you pop your head up now and again. if there is some way to reach out to you, I'd like that. If you want to try something fun with the tracks below and you may get an idea of how I feel about pigeon holing talented bands into "Genres". What I found was that Led Zeppelin was much more than a heavy rock band and that Fairport Convention was much more than A Folk Rock band. Anyway, just a ramble. I do miss your posts though. Led Zeppelin (Robert Plant/Jimmy Page) The Battle Of Evermore Gallows Pole Ranble On Stairway To Heaven No Quarter Fairport Convention (Sandy Denny/Richard Thompson) She Moves Through The Fair Fotheringay Tam Lin * Reynardine * Matty Groves Crazy Man Michael * Farewell, Farewell * Poor Will & The Jolly Hangman

Led Zeppelin covering Led Zeppelin. I love this because it had to have been reacted before Wayne knew and loved Zep. Who else says aloud "let's get it" just as the reaction starts? Wayne, what Led Zeppelin song let you know they were something special? Maybe it was this one.

From the small bits I've heard from Plant regarding the death of John. I understood it to be a matter of authenticity and respect to the bands memory. That it was not Led Zeppelin in any other form. Just wanting to move on and continue to create something different. And yeah. Those songs were made for a younger Plant vocals.

I don't think Kid Rock's performance voice in his cover had the sort of warmth that Robert Plant's troubadour version had. It struck me as harsh. Plant's delivery had a sort of melancholy that I associate with Frodo and Aragorn's characters.

Hi STB. Do you have an email address you are willing to share? You've asked to hear from us old folks and, well, I have lots to pass on. However, I am not on twitter or anything quite frankly. Thanks. If you want mine first just respond or tell me you can't and I will respect that of course.
