Led Zeppelin The Lemon Song Reaction (Just Unblocked May 2023)
One of the first from October 2018. I never thought this would get unblocked! Something strange is happening to all my Zeppelin blocked reactions. They're fluctuating between blocked, then unblocked.

This is Howlin' Wolf's ELECTRIFIED "Killing Floor"! "The Lemon Song" is a prime example of what the Brits (and others) did to the classic Black blues when the genre left the US and landed in Europe, particularly England. And the new, high-powered genre returned to the US starting in the 1960s and continuing through the next decade ... much to the delight of youngsters across the nation. In the hands of master musicians like these 4 men, the music was identifiable yet the beat was so altered, runs added, speeds fluctuating, etc. it seemed wholly new, especially to young ears eager to leave Top 40 waaaay behind.
What a fantastic time this is, STB's treasure trove of blocked reactions being given BACK to music fans!!! WE MISS YOU BRO, LET'S GET IT!!!

On a side note…missed you when you were away my brother, you are my number one favorite reaction video channel! You really won me over with this video and your detailed appreciation of Van Halen (the David Lee Roth years!). I am 57 years old and they have been my number one rock band since I was 13 years old for ALL of the reasons that you picked up on during your reaction videos. Anyways glad to see you back, keep up the BEYOND EXCELLENT work!

This is one of those very few songs where the guitar is just ornamentation for the phenomenal bass work of John Paul Jones.

It was Exceptional Renditions like This that Really Delighted the Surviving Blues Legends of the early 70's! Blues Made the Transition to Rock n Roll in the 50's. And By the 60's the More Established Recording Artists tried to Do Straight up Blues. They Did ok. But Again. The Surviving Blues Legends, that were Still Around ,heard that And Called it , " Plastic Soul "! But When ZEPPELIN did Their Rendition of The Blues 🎸. They Enjoyed What Zeppelin did Greatly! And this Angered Other Groups. They Became Jealous. They Began to put forth Rumors that Zeppelin Stole Music from Blues Songs. And Lied About whether LED ZEPPELIN got Legal permission for the Music they Sampled! Which wasn't True. It's Just What Jealousy Looks like!
Jonesy’s finest moment!

I found your reaction to this song pleasurable. I am a 58yr white widowed woman who has labeled led-zep my favorite band for that Era. As you were sitting there after you ran the track, you were analyzing the different 'styles' (or similar word) and remarked about how they managed to blend them together so well. I can't remember all of what you said, but you were there, lol - anyway, I thought to myself 'I wonder if Robert (Plant) and the boys were really so aware of all this' Hahaha & chuckled to myself because hearing that in the 70's - well it just seemed natural. Your knowledge of music is vast and admirable. I enjoyed your analogy. Not bad for some long haired light dudes from England, eh? Thanx for listening to Led Zeppelin and look forward to more. Take care. 🎼🎶💫🥀✨️ PS My guess for other 2 songs: Stairway to Heaven and The Immigrant Song...
I always come back to your Zeppelin reactions. They are the most genuine, and with your music knowledge, they are simply the best. I think you might be missing a bit on the Page & The Black Crowes era. I leave you a couple links in case you are interested. The first one is a version of Your time is gonna come + an interview withe the band, which has an amazing Jimmy solo. The second link is most of one their best (if not the best) concert of the tour, filmed from the pit right in front of Jimmy and with great audio quality. kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4lklaaxkaq0fdY.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/dYx6pLCcoJy9ns4.html Hope you enjoy it!

@@SoulTrainBro yeah, I´m aware, I´ve seen it. But this is a better concert, much better I´d say. And the version on the Connan O´Brian show of Your time is gonna come is amazing, a great arrangement, and Jimmy´s solo is definitive, you can tell by his smile when the song finishes.

@@javierbh1 What a feeling of relief to see someone else other than myself realizing and paying attention to things pertaining to exactly what you just said about how big of a smile Page had on his face afterwards.!! It's people such as urself and The AWESOME ASS, SMOOTH MOVING -N- TALKING SOUL TRAIN BRO THAT KEEPS ME PERCOLATING!
John Paul Jones is again so Fire!!!he is there backbone! I love bass myself and drums!! This band died it all got me!!!
Lets start a movement. We can all band together and our motto can be.. The more words I type here the more the algorithm works although saying the word algorithm is probably a minus so saying it twice is kinda dumb but wait I have thought of the name guys. It's gonna be called Fuck Led Zeppelin. Let's get some heat rolling here, plenty of incoming clownage to go around. We can say it like a mantra to bring us to higher realisation fuck led zeppelin fuck zeppelin fuck led zeppelin over and over and over until finally I realise it's not all about Me eh.
Woot
Wayne, LED Zeppelin ruined my musical tastes. Your thinking “what the hell is this guy talking about”. From the time I was born until 1971 my music taste was nurtured by my mother. From church music ( not gospel ) and for a short time (1964) when the Beatles toured Australia. Because of the old adage of “ go outside and play” you did hear much music. Along comes 1971 and I’m not quite 15 and I’m at the local pool hall. Back in these days you could play 3 jukebox songs for 20 cents. I looked at all the song titles and I discovered a band I never heard of, but the title of the song is what got me interested because I’d not long finished reading The Hobbit. The song was Misty Mountain Hop. After listening to it I searched to see if there was any more LZ songs and I found whole lotta love. Little did I know at the time that my whole taste in music was altered forever. Don’t get me wrong there were some great bands around at the time and since, but nothing I repeat nothing has come close to LZ as the whole package. In my honest opinion nothing compares to LZ. Thanks for your videos mate. Oh and from one ex serviceman to another “ Thank you for your service.

Great history. Thank you!
Two blues songs blended into one, the squeeze my lemon bits landed them in legal issues with the original , can't remember his name. I think it ended in out of court settlement. Not the first time LZ had legal issues, lol even the name the Zeppelin family/estate were not to happy about them using it. Page was always aiming for the US market first, even dropped the letter A from Lead (as in the metal) to Led as he thought Americans would pronounce it as in Lead/leader of the pack and not Lead (the metal) Zeppelin. It will go down like a Lead Zeppelin/ or a lead balloon, a way of saying its a bad idea. A member of the Who made that comment when he heard Page was forming another band out of the ashes of the Yardbirds. Well he got that wrong big time.
One of my favorite songs ever. It has it all like you said . I would like to know what your father thought of this one.,

I thought so. I was too.. You think you heard one of there greatest and then it keeps getting better. Thanks for the reply.
I know the sources. Just that good!
Zeppelin did a great job rearranging a lot of blues songs. Their only sin was not giving credit to the original performers, and most importantly, the song writers.
What happened, I thought it was the studio version, but live, on my phone it was cut ?
JP’s guitar work here is wildly difficult to play. JPJ’s bass is denser on vinyl.
"Listen to the bass" ... you ain't heard nothing yet...
