Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

that ending is such a perfect way to end such a perfect song.
The way the song starts off so soft and sweet and then Robert just comes in full force with Bonzo and company right behind him! R.I.P mom always thinking of you when I hear that sweet opening!

To get the full experience you have to play all 10 or whatever number of their records start to finish. If you don't have time for that there is a fantastic multi-DVD from about 20 yrs. ago that captures 4 live shows with all kinds of special features and isn't more than $ 20-25 US. It will more than get your big toe in the water. When I got it, I spent a whole weekend watching it with some mild chemical enhancement but your call. You won't be disappointed. ROCK ON 🎼🎵🎶🎤🎹🎸🎸🥁

@@JeremiahB444 I miss saving up for a record with my paper route and the anticipation of finally getting it and excitedly ripping off the plastic and at last plopping it on the turntable while studying the liner notes. That's what IMO is missing in the computer age. The physical act of bonding with a piece of music and if lucky going to see their promotional tour. You're about the same age as my son and he is tired of me always talking about the good 'ole days but you strike me as someone who would lend an eager ear.... Peace, out and have a great weekend yourself Tgod

The intro of this song is what inspired me to learn to play guitar, twenty five years ago. To this day, virtually every time that I pick up one of my guitars, I play this song. It is such a joy to play, given all of the hammer-ons and pulls offs required.

This song is one of their greatest, just tye whole atmosphere of tye song. It's like the song doesn't give you time to get some air and it just keeps going and going until you finally exit the rehearsal room and your back in the hallway where there's a soft sound that is rising. Beautiful.

*Over the Hills and Far Away* Hey, lady, you got the love I need Maybe more than enough Oh, darlin', darlin', darlin', walk a while with me Oh, you got so much, so much, so much Many have I loved, many times been bitten Many times I've ga-yazed along the open road Many times I've lied and many times I've listened Many times I've wondered how much there is to know Many dreams come true, and some have silver linings I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missin' Many, many men can't see the open road Many is a word that only leaves you guessin' A-guessin' 'bout a thing you really oughta know, hoh, oh, oh, oh Really oughta know, oh, oh, I really oughta know-whoa, oh-whoa You know I should, you know I should, you know I should know Hoo
