    Yes, he was the anchor/keystone. At 61 years old when I listen to them he continues to blow me away. Jazz licks with power is the only way I can describe that beast of a drummer. The GOAT in my humble opinion.

    Bonham was a force of nature and by many accounts larger than life. To be honest even if they wanted to go on and I think Page considered it with Cozy Powell in mind, they couldn’t because Page was still battling heroin addiction and was in very poor health. Robert’s heart wasn’t in it and there was still a rift of bad feelings between Plant and Page. They did try with Tony Thompson briefly at one time, but it just wasn’t working and then Tony was involved in a car accident and they just decided to forget it.

    The ultimate Diamond in the rough in the Zep catalogue. The most underrated song IMO

  • @henriettaskolnick4445
    @henriettaskolnick4445 Жыл бұрын

    This song's title got its inspiration from John Bonham. Being "out on the tiles" meant you were going drinking. Bonzo had a little tune he'd sing that went "I've had a pint of bitter and now I'm feeling better and I'm out on the tiles. We're going down the rubbers and we're going to pull some scrubbers because we're out on the tiles." In some areas of England, people use a rhyming slang in their speech, so in this case, "rubbers" comes from the rhyming slang of rub-a-dub = the word "pub". To "pull" means "hook up with" and "scrubbers" are "loose women" (politely). If you listen closely, when Robert says, "I'm so glad I'm leaving" there's a voice immediately after that says "stop" and is believed to be Jimmy cueing the next little break and that they either inserted it there to go with Robert's lyric or just left it in. It's a catchy, bouncy tune with a hint of growl and is a lot of fun.

    The hairs on my arms are standing up... I love how you are going through the albums... getting to these tracks that the other reactors skip in favor of the (albeit) greats like Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, etc... Album Rock at its finest... Back in the day, and still today, I wouldn't play Zeppelin songs, I (alone or with friends) would commit and play the album... I'm as equally familiar with each note of every song on their albums as I am with any other.

    It's always interesting to hear fans pick their favorite Zeppelin albums, and I love the first four albums. Zeppelin lV is probably the easiest to sit back and enjoy, but the elephant in the room is Physical Graffiti. It's a monster by itself, the songs and the sound production are stellar. Bonham's drum sound on the album, are hard to put into words...

    Drummer John Bonham would talk about going "out on the tiles," meaning to bars - the title is a British term for going out on the town( and drink!) Jimmy Page wrote this song around the phrase. Bonham got a writing credit on the track, along with Page and Robert Plant!!! love your reactions!

    One of the best featues of this album was the cover art. In this era of streaming and previously CD's the art of the covers has been lost. This particular cover had the 12" spinning disc that is unique and creates a host of variations to the front album cover.

    I think you guys are missing the fact that during the riff John Bonham is not playing in time as the guitar and bass. That is the art of this song. When Jimmy and JPJ Eventually catch up with Bonham’s timing It actually goes offbeat for a moment Then Bonham skips a beat and then gets right back on time. The song was designed to be like that. It’s pure genius. There are 3 time syncopations. 4/4, 7/8, & 6/4. Extremely complex.

    Also... I and II were recorded in the late 60s on 8 Track.... maybe 16 Track tape. The drums weren't panned much. By 1970 and III, DEFINITELY 16 Track and maybe even 24 Track tape was available. From III onward Gonzo's drums are recorded to several tracks and panned in the mix so that you can hear the movement left to right (or whatever) in his drum fills. Yeah... Gonzo only gets better with each album. And he was crazy good on the first one. By IV and Houses of the Holy the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio was a thing with 24 Track, the beginnings of console automation, and the ability to rent out a mansion and the RSMS and just stay for a month or 2. They may be mixed somewhere else, but tracked in some pretty cool places.

    70s, 90s, and late 2010s Rock mixes have the vocals lower in the mix. 70s, 90s, and late 2010 pop music has the vocals WAY out front. The lead vocals aren't intended to be the only lead instrument. Sometimes, the backing vox or harmonies are louder than the lead vox. Pink Floyd, the chorus of Us and Them. Steely Dan the chorus of Bad Sneakers. Nirvana... anything. It was a conscious decision to put the vox back in the mix a little.

    Great song, great album and great reaction! JPJ is also a really good guitar player, you can go on KZread and find many impressive JPJ guitar performances. This is my 2nd favorite Zep album, 1st being Physical Graffiti. Great call on the Page rif- it’s great! My favorite rif guitarists are Page, Ritchie Blackmore & Keith Richard’s. One thing you guys do that most of the other poser reactors don’t is you get into full albums and songs from artists like Roy Buchanan that are not commercial/hits or hit artists, but instead just real artists! Keep it up! It’s one of the things that really sets you guys apart from the other hit only folks. You know everybody’s got friends that listen to rock ‘n’ roll the same music we do, but will only listen to the hits and not to the albums, which for big music fans can be a little frustrating.

    Just for the sake of discussion... a "record" is the whole thing... e.g. a "vinyl record". Each song is a "track". If you had a 45, that would also be a record, but even that has two tracks, side A and side B. Zeppelin had a general "no singles" policy, but they did release "Immigrant Song" as a single, with the B-side "Hey Hey What Can I Do?", which was not on an album. You guys should do that song at the end of this album, since it was recorded at that time. 🧐👍

    Hello, nothing to do with ZEP, but I saw how much you enjoyed the live performance from GFR and know that you would also enjoy THE WHO live. Any of their Woodstock, Isle of Wight (1970), Texas (1975) or Kilburn (1978) performances are top notch. SPARKS from Woodstock, YOUNG MAN BLUES from Isle of Wight or WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN from Kilburn are good starters.

    The song was almost haunting and I don't remember the original giving me that, like that chill down to my bones. She really just has such a unique sound that I really felt like I wasn't really ready for her. I am sure during the song some of you probably noticed that my mouth was hanging open and I had to remind myself to actually close my mouth so I don't look like a big dummy. I am not really sure why shes not better known here in the US, because honestly, before people were telling me in the comments to listen to her, I had never even heard of her. But somethings telling me that's probably not going to be the case for too much longer because she has a lot of talent and she is super unique. I feel like that's going to take her really far. Thank you guys for recommending this. She was awesome. Reaction taken from: Video: Cant Help Falling in Love by Diana Ankudinova; Диана Анкудинова | RTT Blind Reacts Channel: Ramboss The Terrible I watched almost 1000 reactions on KZread to this performance of Diana from musicians, vocalists, vocal coaches, simple musical reactors, and all of them, with their jaws dropped, with goosebumps, were shocked by Diana's performance. I look forward to your reaction to Diana. As many people as possible should know about Diana and hear the voice of the Goosebump Queen.

    One of the most famous hits of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.) Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) VERY IMORTANT, the video must be original (duration - 8.56m) from Diana's channel, NOT a short pirated copy from "brocoli". 7.2 million views 189k likes - total 1008 reactions to this performance by Diana. ATTENTION: 1) Please use ONLY original content from Diana Ankudinova official channel. 2) Videos from TV shows are often blocked by KZread and video EDITING is required. MV, live performances are available for unlimited reactions WITHOUT EDITING Fan community supporting Diana Ankudinova: #dianamania

    @@finlybenyunes8385 And this should somehow interest me, does this channel belong to you? Or is this channel owned by Ledd Zepelin, or is there a rule somewhere about what comments can be left, what requests can be made? I know that thanks to my requests, thousands of reactions to Diana appeared on KZread. And the reactors are happy and thank me for the information about a new artist for them.
