The bass part is more technical than the rhythm (main riff) guitar part imho

I agree. Take some more classic rock songs, let Dylan do the vocals with the slide guitar. This absolutely could turn into a “ Thang”, but I think Rhett already knew that!

Rhett is an excellent guitar player by just about any measure and I think it shows a mature and somewhat egoless mindset to share his platform with Dylan in this way. I'm sure there would be other folks thinking well I'm the bigger creator and it's my channel so I should have the starring role etc., but definitely not the case here. Loving this series also!

I was a Dylan fan before, but... DAMN. So much better than I would have expected when doing a vocal line with an instrument. And the rest of the band was just as awesome. Rhett, you always rock, dude. Philip and Chad were solid and in the pocket. And it's not like they kept it simple. Rhett Shull's All Star Band. Every one of these you've done so far has been great. Not that I doubted anyone's ability to walk the walk, but KZread is often about lots of talking. Doing this shows you folks can PLAY. And not just a bar for part of a demo or something, but a whole song and do it REALLY DAMN WELL.

If your expectations of doing a vocal line with an instrument are not very high, please do yourself a favor and check out Homeskoolin with Nashville session ace Tom Bukovac and his alter-ego Uncle Larry/Little Tommy from Cleveland. I can't point you to a particular episode but he has wracked up almost 300 episodes since the pandemic began. He plays more chords than the best chord book contains, plays the vocal melody on the guitar quite often and rarely does the shreddy bits. He is very unique. And did I mention the chords? Oh the chords. Wow!
