Unfortunately, these two are maybe too young to really appreciate them. Don't seem to be very big on The Doors, either, on the whole. A lot of the 60's and 70's stuff is maybe going back just a little too far for most people in their age group. Which is sad, because it makes me wonder who will be left to appreciate great bands like this once we die off.

Fun fact. Reading "led zeppelin on led zeppelin" bonzo, in 1970, said he'd only been playing drums for 6 years. Meaning he joined Led Zeppelin with only 4 years of drumming in late 1968. This blew me away.

I saw Vince Neil from Motley Crue at a "Rock The Park" concert, and after 1 or 2 songs he noticed a cute girl in the crowd, pulled her up onstage, and they disappeared backstage for the rest of his set. The crowd didn't care because his band just played LZ the whole time he was gone. This was a concert for fans of classic rock, so hey ho. Also we all saw what he did so it was sort of amusing and appropriate for him.

You're right, Lex. A timeless piece. This is the song, the opening track on Zep's debut LP, that announced to the universe that they were here, and here to stay. A completely different and uniquely relevant sound. They had arrived. When you're young kid growing up in the guitar age, this song knocks you out. You have to remember Jimmy Paige and Led Zep were opening new doors with their sound. He was also one of the top three rock guitarists and a pioneer.. His playing was phenomenal in the rock scene.
There is a young lady from Japan named, Yoyoka. When she was EIGHT years old, she covered this track. There is a video on KZread of Robert Plant himself watching her do it. It is remarkable. She even nails the kick pattern, which is no joke for any drummer. When you get a minute, you should give it a look.

Back in the day when the albums were mastered for vinyl records, the longer the length of the album affected the width of the grooves in the record cutting process, resulting in lower quality playback, so fade outs were common so as to not effect the sound overall. That's why 12" singles sound better than 7", the grooves contain more information. That's why it faded too soon, to keep the overall quality of the album decent..

This is the first song on their first album. My cousin and I listened to this when it came out. He said, "These guys are gonna be huge!" He was right.
I was 12 in 6th grade in RI in 1980 I was really into Van Halen I had known who Led Zep was but really just Stairway, Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love…my buddy Jason same age had an amazing vinyl collection he had like 50 records most were from his dad he said there is so much more than the surface songs…we proceeded to Hang out the rest of the day and went through the first four albums then did the rest the following week…all I can say mind blown for life..lol He was a great childhood friend from age 5 until our early 20’s when we drifted into our lives I moved to FL in 2004 and we only have talked once since I moved when I called when I heard his mom passed…but as we said on that call we may not see each other and our lives are different but we will always be friends…great kid..loved being a kid in the 70’s and a teen in the 80’s great time to be alive..
Imagine you’re a teenager in March of 1969. New music is everywhere so you decide to go to the record store and see what they have. You see an album with a big picture of the Hindenburg disaster with the words “Led Zeppelin”. The album cover looks cool so you decide to purchase it. When you get home you put the record on, and the first thing you hear is John Bonham having a rhythmic field day on the drums. That was the introduction to Led Zeppelin for untold thousands of fans.

I was that kid. For me, there was Elvis, then The Beach Boys, then The Beatles, but THEN there was LZ, and everything changed.
Summer of 1990. I was almost 17, approaching the start of my senior year of high school. Family trip around the country, I was riding backwards in the back of the station wagon listening to LZ1 on repeat on cassette. Ended up needing another cassette because I wore the first one out. LZ1 is still to this day my favorite LZ album. I was a semi-professional musician at the time and I could not get over the realization that THIS song is the very first song on their very first album. The sheer GENIUS of this song being the first sound still blows my mind. Similar feeling with the first song on the B-side, Your Time Is Gonna Come. LZ1 is the closest thing to a religious experience that I've ever had.
I'd say it's early Zeppelin since this is the first track of their first album. I must have listen to this tune a thousand times or more. Killer album.
ok, imagine. This was the first song on Led Zeppelin 1. THIS was the song that got 'em all hooked!
One of the best rock bands of all time. So great to share music and new experiences. It's the universal language.
Love Lex’s smile at the beginning of the song! Hope you guys are doing well!
You're bang on Lex about the timelessness and the maturity of the band despite their very young age. You're perceptive.
20-year old Bonzo doing triplets on the kick drum. Jimi Hendrix said that Bonzo had a left foot like a pair of castanets. Jimmy with one of his 1000-note flurries. Great opener for the career.

This was one of those magic moments in the days of full length Albums. 1969. You buy the record, go home, peal off the cellophane, open the sleeve, and the smell of a brand new vinyl was intoxicating. You pull the record from the sleeve, give a sniff, blow off what little dust might be on there. Put the record on the turntable, drop the needle, hear that initial crackle, and then BOMP, BOMP, tick, tick, tick, BOMP BOMP, tick, tick tick tick, and the world is never the same. Ahhh, I remember it well.

Led Zeppelin 1 Track 1 What a way to show up to the fuckin party!! That voice at 20 years old..damn!! Best band ever!!!
I absolutely live the fact that Lex is a straight up Zep head. Awesome.
1st song on 1st album so yeah its an older vibe
The first song on Led Zeppelin's debut album, John Bonham, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page are the credited songwriters on this track. Page explained how it came together in his 2012 Rolling Stone interview: "John Paul Jones came up with the riff. I had the chorus. John Bonham applied the bass-drum pattern. That one really shaped our writing process. It was like, 'Wow, everybody's erupting at once.'" The lyric is a little disjointed, but the song rocks so hard, most listeners don't notice. Robert Plant sings about coming of age, falling in love at 16 and losing his woman to a brown-eyed man (possibly inspired by Chuck Berry's "Brown Eyed Handsome Man." The end of the song finds him proclaiming his love for his woman back home, telling her they will never part.
Supro tube amp and Telecaster... Can't beat that guitar tone.... And those triplet single-kick notes are amazing.
Lex is always on point with her analogies and Brad is self aware enough to know that he is not. I love this channel. Well done both of you.👏👏🙂🇺🇸🏳️🌈
It's always good to see people learning about the greatest band ever. Have you seen the Led Zeppelin Kennedy Center Honors? There's a Stairway to Heaven cover by Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart along with Jason Bonham on drums that's excellent. I also heard the lady say she likes the blues/rock genre so I would suggest checking out Stevie Ray Vaughan. He's one of the greatest guitarists ever.
"I'm gonna start doin' that to you." LMAO! That was funny, Brad!
Song 1 of many many eternal songs that will never grow old. Told my nephew they where a new upcoming band. Let him listen to L.Z. 2 and he said "they are going to make it...." And then I told him they haven't been together for 30 years atleast. We now have LED bonding thing going on

The Page explosions, Bonham banging, Jones cool bass. Lex is right on with timeless. Even back then there was a time factor with Led Zeppelin.
