LED Signal Lights, Fuse Box & Spark Plug Cables | Custom 1983 Yamaha XJ750 | "KALI" | EP#01

NEW PROJECT!!! Introducing "Kali" a 1983 Yamaha XJ750!! Nicole's first bike! It's a little rough (which is PERFECT).
This episode I tackle the stock fuse box, new spark plug cables and integrate LED signal lights into the wiring harness.

My favourite bike is the 1982 Honda 750 Night Hawk. Always wanted to mount a 900 F motor into one. I know it will fit! Dunlop Qualifier tires. Sweet ride. If I find one I will bring it to you for a project. We need to put a DC motor on that lift platform 😊

I followed your video and got my LED's working for signals. They have a 3rd yellow wire for a running light option. Is it possible to also use that feature. I've tried running power but no luck on a 83 yamaha xj750. Thanks

Yes you should be able to splice it into the low beam inside the headlight and the running light in the tail light

okay so i have an xj550 and im on the same stage as you here when it comes down to the turn signal wiring i have all the parts but 1. what led bulb did you use in the cluster gages to complete that with the diode and 2. for the brake light is there anything special i need to do or is it simply plug and play

1 - watch in the video from 8:00-10:00 and from 13:00-14:00. Google “metric bike diode kit”. Buy an LED turn signal relay (the orange part) and buy the metric bike diode kit. look at the wiring diagram. Remove the turn signal indicator light in the gauge cluster (the one that flashes when you are signalling). Cut both wires and solder the diode kit red wires to the wires you cut. Solder the blue wire up to the one side of the indicator, the other side of the indicator light goes to ground….. (you do not need to put a new LED bulb up at the dash. The original bulb will work with the diode kit) … 2 - the tail light is plug and play. If you have more questions email me and I’ll draw something out Luke.a.aysan@gmail.com

@@lukesmotorshop any idea where I could learn to swap the fuse box? I have a 82 Seca 750 and the fuse connectors are pretty trashed. Do you have a shop in Toronto?

@@chrisjones5033 check out the next video…. I used a “metric bike diode kit” basically it uses the same bulb with a small wire kit and a diode to solve the issue! It’s a very simple install!
