    Hi there! Watching your videos and almost ready to start my project! Thank you for the link to the clips. Question: Have an idea of how many feet you used for the "Bride to Be" and "Wild One"?? Also, I bought the same brand wire but 16 gauge! Think it will still work?

  • @MakerDecor

    @MakerDecor

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi thanks for watching. For the bride to be I used most of the wire because I back tracked some of the letters to save time making extra connections. The wild one I had a good amount left. 16 gauge might be a little difficult as it is thicker then I used. I mostly used 20,22 and 24 gauge wire as they fit into the clips better. I would make sure to strip the wire of the rubber at the end to help make sure it fits in the clip. Not sure if it will work but maybe worth a shot. Thank you.

    Hi thanks for watching. The wire I used for this one was actually door bell wire from Lowe's but they have the same one at Home Depot as well. I believe it is 24 gauge? But if you just look for door bell wire it will be there, it is the smallest gauge (thinnest wire) they carry. Everything else at the department stores would be too thick.

    Hi, question about where to cut the flex: do you only have to cut on the black dots for purposes of making wiring connections, or do you have to always cut on the black line no matter what? In other words, if you're simply cutting the flex tubing because that is where you want the end of the piece, and you're not going to make another connection with the clips there, can you then cut it wherever you want? Or will it not light up if yo don't cut at the black dots? Thanks!

  • @MakerDecor

    @MakerDecor

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, you are correct. You can cut it anywhere. But if you want it to light up then you have to cut it on the black dots. But say you make a sign and you need it to end at a spot that does not have the black dots. You can just cut it anywhere. But you will not be able connect after that cut. You are right, good luck!

And I know now, they use it alot. but for now when compared to purchasing a Neon LED sign which can be easily over $100 or $200 depending on size, it will do. They do sell the on Amazon. All you are going to do is get the two wires make sure you connecting the positive and negative wires to either a clip connector as in the video or you will have to solder the connection. I do not have a video on it. But I do believe they do have some on KZread showing the topic. It is simple but you do want to make sure you make the right connections and seal it together. How do you make your template cut out in different pieces of paper to be able to tape together?

    The easiest way is just using the printer settings and switch the settings to poster. Then the amount of pages you want your image stretched across. Most printers have those settings. The other options are photoshop or inkscape. Which are more complicated and I do not really have it down enough. It usually takes me some time to create one through trial and error. Good luck

    Hi thanks for watching, I updated the description to include these products. Some times the links stop working so just copy and past from the description into Amazon and you should get something similar to pop up. I used these (2 Pin 8mm LED Strip to Wire Connector Unwired Clips Solderless Adapter Terminal Extension Connection) from amazon as the small clear connectors. Make sure you have the (LEDMO Power Supply, Transformers, LED Adapter, 12V, 5A Max, 60 Watt Max, for LED Strip) I got this one from amazon but you could use any power adapter with those specifications. Or this description as well. 2-Pin 8mm COB LED Strip to Wire Connector Unwired Clips Solderless Adapter Terminal Extension Connection for High Density LED Strip Lights 12V 24V (Pack of 10)

    Hi, for me it like a battery with positive and negative. So however you start the first wires you want to keep that same when connecting to the next plastic connector. So it will keep positive and negative going down the line. It does help using two different colored wires like white and red so you can keep track which one goes where. But I chose to use just white because when I used white and red last time you could kinda see the red and it bugged me. So I just used the white and knew if it was backwards then to just flip the wires and it will work. That is probably the only hard part is making sure you have a good connection with those clips. I also have another video titled "Closer look at LED Neon connectors, solderless NEON LED signs" which shows a better look at the connectors, thank you.

    Wait how the heck do the 2 white wires you cut work without needing the red?? Lol 🤔🤔

  • @MakerDecor

    @MakerDecor

    2 жыл бұрын

    Really, their is no difference in the red and white wires. They are wires that are just color coated. They are simply a different color so you know which connection is positive and negative once connected. Really there is only two wires, so if you put one connection together and it doesn't light up then you know you have the negative and positive mixed and just switch them up. I did the only white to try to hide seeing the red wire easily. But you can use the Red and White if you prefer, it was just to see the difference. Thanks for watching!
