Awesome job man, this is the clearest ex I've seen on youtube about this subject.

Many many thanks to you for this clear explanation. This distance xp is not shown in any book. So I was being confused with it. You just cleared this confusion, man! Kudos! Subscribed.

I actually got pretty close to figuring this problem out. A miracle considering my book is terrible. But thanks for this video. It's exactly what I was looking for after struggling with this problem. The trick for me is you pointed out Xp doesn't move. I didn't consider that.

Same here 😄.. It is exactly the same figure which is pointed in my book and I had its solution too but couldn't get why it was 2XA-3XB=0 .. and now I got it that the dXp term is 0 because it doesn't move 😎😁

Hey can you please make another tutorial where you demonstrate how to solve relative constrained motions? Something similar to this but there are questions like velocity and acceleration of one relative to another. Thanks a bunch.

xP is the position of the pulley attached to the wall at the right. I use this to define the length of the rope between that pulley and block A. The length of the purple portion of the rope and the green portion of the rope is (xP - xA). Once I start taking derivatives, xP will go away since it does not move and its derivative with respect to time is zero.
