Fiber optics depends on color codes to identify components and ensure correct connections when splicing or connecting fibers to other fibers or communications equipment. In this FOA Lecture video we review how fiber optics depends on color codes, what color codes are being used (based on TIA 598) and how sometimes other colors are used instead.
