    It's not for me totally clear the differences between heuristics and metaheurustics. It's simply a metaheuristic a iterative process of the heuristics methods? Also, if we are talking about near-optimal values 'cause we really don't need a "best-point" value, why talking about a global maximun or "best value"? it has no sense if our plan is to found a good or excellent point.

    For example, a local maximun could be a excellent point and in that case we no need expend more resources finding a "imaginary" best value. Why in that case talk about near optimal values?

    @@danielflorez3762 : Global Maxima or Local maxima are just approximations. In Theory you can at best find the most "optimal" local maxima out of many as there are infinite number of points at maxima or minima. It is like a centroid of a cluster of best point values but it does not represents a single "best point" value.
