    Love your videos, I actually purchased one after seeing your video, I'm a long-haul truck and have been in folding bikes for years starting with the speed 8 Dahon then progressing to Montague and then a Montague paratrooper, have always been into the C-9 seats and know that the spring load is the best for comfort, I do need to clean and jerk lift 63 lbabove my shoulders just to put the bike into the passenger seat of my semi truck, the saddlebag from Lectric are nice but, have to attach it further back in order to not be clipped by your heel when pedaling... Overall your videos are fabulous 👌 so keep them coming as this long haul SUPER TRUCKER loves it!...

    I bought the Lixada bag. I have the same rear rack as yours. I put the rear strap between the license plate bracket and the rear vertical posts. I put the front strap in front of the front vertical posts. This makes the bag very secure so it doesn't slide around and I don't need the front strapped to the seat post. Thank you for all your reviews. I find myself buying many of the products you suggest. Keep the reviews coming.

  • @JerryBrown-qy9gh
    @JerryBrown-qy9gh4 жыл бұрын

    Good one! I’ve made many of these mods and they’re good ones. I have the Bikeroo seat that is similar to the Cloud 9 and the Zoom seat post. I switched to the Suntour seat post and the Schwin Super Breeze seat without the spring suspension. At 217 pounds I like it better because it is not as springy. I need to try the Super breeze with the Zoom. I think I would be happy with that combo also. Just my experience. For the money the Zoom is a must in my opinion. You might want to try it without the spring seat first. BTW, I have 50 miles on the 11-28 freewheel and really like it. I reserve 7th gear for PAS 5 and mostly ride in PAS 3 in 6th gear. You have to remove the spacer washer behind the old freewheel or the 11-28 will stick out too far, I discovered. Thanks for posting! These are really big help for new owners.

I really like it. I purchased it after watching a lot of your videos. I also brought the ecotric and the ancheer prior to watching your videos. I will share with you which one I like best. The computer on the Letric seems to be immediately better with more levels for PAS. The ancheer I have is a 250 and it does fine for me but I like the extra kick from the 500. It helps get up the parking garage where I live much easier. Thank you for your videos. You do an excellent job.

    Nice recommendations. I lined and slimed my wheels using 29x4 liners.. An absolute must for the condom thin tires. Removing and reinstalling the rear tire is tons of fun. LOL! You'll just love dropping the rear wheel as the frame is too tight. I solved the problem with a short length of closet pole wedged between the frame arms. One video recommends a screw driver, but I don't like that hack.. I re-purpose a patio umbrella stand as a bike stand. After inserting a closet pole into the umbrella stand pipe, I lower the bike over the pole and into the bottom of the seat pipe. Works great..! Yes, you will need to retention the rear spokes.. Your spoke tool looks clunky. I have the Park Tool SW-14.5 Shimano wrench and file the opening on the 3.75mm side to fit the spoke nuts. I also use an alignment tool for the derailleur hanger/support. Sooner or later you'll need it unless you like paying confiscatory bike shop rates. The seat post may need adjustment for when it bottoms out into your testiquuuules. LOL! Thanks again.

    Lol I’m sure I’ll find out how hard it is to remove and reinstall the rear wheel whenever I upgrade the freewheel. I was thinking about the tire liners but they are just so dang expensive. I’ve been lucky enough so far not to get a flat.

    @@JeremiahMcintosh I'm thinking about buying one or two of these bikes, in large part because of the low price. But it seems like if you have to make upgrades to everything - grips, freewheel, seat, suspension, lights, then why not just buy a bike that costs 300-400 more and has all those things? Like Rize BoltX for example?

  • @JeremiahMcintosh

    @JeremiahMcintosh

    3 жыл бұрын

    The rize x is almost double the price $800 more and still does not have a suspension seat post and who knows how soft the seat is. These accessories would not cost nowhere near that much. I do like the front suspension and bigger battery but don’t feel it’s worth that much more and I really like how the battery is hidden on the lectrics. You make it the bike and filled it it doesn’t need any upgrades?

    @@JeremiahMcintosh Just one more question. I notice in the Amazon comments/reviews of the Cloud 9 seat you recommend that some people said the seat rails are too far apart for the usual/standard seat post clamps. As I will be buying the alternate suspension seat post (Satori, 27.2 X 350 size) instead of the Zoom (Out of Stock. Maybe no more coming, too.), did you have any problem fitting the Cloud 9 seat rails to the Zoom seat post clamp?

  • @JeremiahMcintosh

    It was a little tricky getting it into the clamp. I used a pair of pliers and gently squeezed it in while tightening it down but it does work.

    I’ve been thinking about getting one of those seats and maybe a seat post. But here is one home made “accessory” that I found I needed. I’ve been riding my XP all winter, through rain and snow. As they warn us, I don’t ride if it is pouring rain, but if it is just a drizzle I might. And I don’t ride through a blizzard, but I will the day after, when the streets are cleared a bit. Either way, even after the rain and snow have fallen, wet streets create a problem, because the fenders are not as complete as desired. So I took some heavy plastic, about 8x 10 and double stick taped it to the end of the front fender, because it was throwing too much rain or slush onto the underside of the frame, right were the key to the battery is! My extension goes almost all the way to the ground. Because it’s just some heavy but flexible plastic it can bend around when needed. Otherwise, it helps. Keeps the wet off my feet more also. I also added about another 6 or 7 inches to the back fender, because it was still sending rain up my backside. I don’t know if anyone makes any kind of fender extender or not, I just made my own.

  • @JeremiahMcintosh

    @@JeremiahMcintosh I work in a food store. In places where there are large 8 x 10 signs indicating prices, often stuck to a cardboard display case, those printed out signs are placed inside these heave plastic sleeves and stuck to something. Kind of like sheet protectors in a binder but much heavier plastic, but not so heavy that they wouldn’t flex if you had to lift the bike over something and hit the plastic, it would just bend and flex and fall back into shape.

    I think it is worth mentioning that the quality of a bike seat- whether avoiding perineum pain or "sit point" cushioning is in my opinion less dependent on bulk, weight, saddle springs and "cushiness" , then on the design, materials, technology and individual fit. Seat adjustment fore and aft and up and down can also make some difference in comfort. Also, padded bike shorts can also help somewhat. A suspension post may also help absorb bumps. If you are finding your bike seat uncomfortable, you should probably find a bike store with a good seat catalog and let them help you find the best option and adjustments. You may have to try out a number of seats in search of the best fit.

    I actually bought the suspension post from Lectric. It does make a big difference. My problem is you have to raise it a bit to ride comfortable. The post from Lectric will go in some so you will need to tighten the nut...a lot. I purchased another seat also which is also wide like the one he purchased. It does make a difference. This a good video review. Many people don't do these types of videos they just ride away without any real world test. Keep upgrading and testing. I got most of the stuff in this video even before actually seeing it....upgrade wise that is.

    @@JeremiahMcintosh Not sure. I will measure it this evening with my calipers and leave the info here this evening. I actually rode into work today. Really that's why I just bought the companies suspension post because it would just be a buy and install job. I think I will get a sleeve slim to make the area a little tighter also. I'm curious about that video you are planning to install that piece so you don't have to keep pedaling to get to 20mph. I actually set my bike to 15 mph. It helps me save battery during the week. As stated I like your videos you do real world stuff. Things people will actually do. People aren't really impressed about how stuff looks only does it work. Based on your work with the bike, a few other videos similar to yours, and the fact I own the bike. I can say this is a great piece of tech. Great helpful videos take care.

This is why I'm buying a sleeve to provide more grab for the seat post. I also purchased that fly wheel and a tool to remove it. Just keep us posted on when you plan on doing the install. I will do my install on a following weekend after watching your video. Peace.

    Thanks for the great videos. It's a big help to other XP riders. Funny how most of your recommendations are unavailable on Amazon. I guess they have been sold out on your advice. I'm puzzeled that Lectric does not include the proper freewheel hub on the bike. It is an engineering flaw not to have an 11 tooth high gear. You can't help the motor at 20 mph because you can't peddle that fast, let alone faster speeds. Love the bike and hope Lectric solves minor problems over time.

    Jesus - re: flats on XP: check out kzread.info/dash/bejne/e3t5pJKiadjcfqQ.html. - The XP needs better rim tape and protection from spoke caused puntures on the inner side of the tube. If you're gonna take the tire off, I would suggest (for all XP owners) to add a flat protection belt (like a Mr Tuffy, but for 20" 4" wide tires). As for the spoke punctures, I'd file down the ends of spokes and glue some nylon/carboard washers around the spoke nipple before taping it with some cloth tape, then cover with 4" wide rim tape . (I build /repair bikes (and now ebikes) for hobbie, but am looking to get the XP too. If I do, I'm gonna address the tube/rim/flat protection first thing.)
