Lectric XP 2.0 - How To ADJUST Your BRAKES

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here I will show you how to adjust the Tektro disc brakes on the Lectric XP 2.0 and explain exactly what your brakes are doing when you pull on your brake lever.
When your brakes are rubbing and making noises it can be super annoying and cause them to wear out quickly.
Keeping your brakes properly adjusted will give you more range on your ebike and make it easier to ride!

I'm a 54 year old woman who isn't even technical savvy and not very industrious and this video was very descriptive so much that I adjusted both the left and right side breaks on my XP 2.0 Lectric bike about 10 minutes ago. I live in Orlando Florida and ride this bike twice a week, to one of my jobs which is 19 mi away so 38 mi total to and from and the right, rear brakes have been not working for at least a month now and the left brakes were barely working before I did this very easy adjustment which was explained slow and thorough just like I needed, LOL! Thank you and you probably saved me from getting in an accident because I have to go to work at this 19 Mile away job tomorrow morning and now I have rear brakes again so yay for that and hats off to you!

I saw the Tinkering Turtle adjusting the Tektro Aries brakes on a Himiway and it seems like a logical step-by-step way to do it. First tighten both barrel locks all the way, then tighten the cable at the caliper all the way, then back off a bit. It was very quick and easy to do on my Lectric 2.0.

It's to compensate for the 4" tire. If you change it, your speedometer and odometer will be slightly incorrect. You would only need to change it if you put much smaller tires on.

Hello, is there any way to do what you did at 8:15 to the back wheel's caliper without taking it off? The motor blocks it mostly, and I was able to do it once at a tough angle but would rather not try again due to the chance of stripping the bolt. Thanks!

There are some that are really good. The $50 ones on Amazon are garbage. The only ones on Amazon that look decent are the Juin brand, but the are expensive. Origin8 and Crust Bikes Palm oil brakes are also very good and expensive. Not sure if they are really worth the price unless you are really having braking issues.

Thanks for this VERY informative video. I am in NO ways mechanically inclined or knowledgeable. I had an issue with my brakes and was worried about when or how I was going to fix them, since bike shops won't work on e-bikes for liability reasons, and I had watched other videos and didn't really see anything that held my attention or sounded doable. Come to find out, that silver outside nut on the opposite side of the brake caliper needed tightened. My brakes went from no reaction (whether the back was tight or loose) to a nice strong grip . My only issue is, I can't quite reach the one in the back because the motor is in the way and I don't have a 5mm allen wrench that can get in there to turn that nut. Any suggestions?
