NightOwl How do you or LBJ know the same people “hating” on him have nothing going on in their life? It’s just the way it is at times, players have fans who dislike them and love them, he focused on the ones who dislike him too much. Point is any loss he has it seems he can’t deal with it. You’re right though, if you lose, learn from it and keep it moving. No need for all that “well I’m rich and you’re not” mentality.

I remember an interview back in 2013 when Lebron said he didn’t play with a loving passion of the game back in the 2010-2011 season. He said he played it out of anger since he was the villain of the nba. You could see it in his body gestures and plays that he was always pissed off. I feel like that was his downside in the finals because his emotions got to him and he couldn’t focus.

Beating those Philly, Boston and Chicago teams was quite a very good and underestimated run, probably the hardest he faced in the east. It's also interesting to see how his style of play was still closer to young Lebron, with a lot of energy but also very raw. He really reached another level on his comeback to the Cavs, since then his game is way more chirurgical, every movement he does seems calculated to be efficient.

The regular season was pretty eh. They struggled at the beginning and the offense didn’t look as crisp as in 2012 and 2013, but he did play well in the eastern conference part of the playoffs, especially against the team seen as public enemy number 1, the Celtics. People give Lebron too much credit for guarding Rose, Wade guarding him way more.

Don’t forget that kobe has a single digit finals game (36 minutes), Kareem scores 6 one game in the 82 finals, and Steph has multiple 11 point finals games as well. Kyrie also has a single digit finals game. One game does not define a career. LeBron led this series in assists and played horrible for his standards but in no way does his game 4 eliminate him from the goat discussion. If it does then Kareem (most mvps ever, all time scorer) is eliminated as well as kobe. This narrative just has no support.

Ln D None of those players were the clear best player going into the finals and then got outscored by 4 players, one who was a bench player. “His standards”?? he straight up played below his average, and like I mentioned got outscored by 4 players. It’s funny how one finals series win (2016) can somehow put a man into the goat conversation in the eyes of LBJ fans but a bad finals series loss doesn’t....makes sense huh? And for the record, LBJ is nowhere near MJ. He wasn’t in the goat conversation during 2011 and he sure as hell shouldn’t be today but you know the media loves these things.

Looking at these highlights, LeBron played so well in the playoffs. But it was that Finals series that he performed terribly. A major hit on his career. I just don't understand why LeBron played so poorly. Maybe it really does have to do with Dallas but seeing as how the Mavericks performed, you'd expect LeBron to do so well against them. After that Finals, I think it's quite clear that LeBron learned something, making him one of the greatest playoffs and finals(even if he has 6 finals losses) performers to ever play the game. If LeBron just did better in that series, he would've had 4 rings.

I see it when LeBron said he was playing Angry this year and needed to go back to himself and you can tell when he celebrated it was like he was out to prove something which he was but I hate that it got to his head and at that time made him someone who he wasn't on the court, he didnt know how to be dominant humbly. He did it every year before that but you can tell in this year he embraced being the villain. Him being the most scrutinized athlete in this media era he's the first person to ever deal with that kind of slander, and he was so young making it to the finals early put more pressure on him than he needed at that young age. But this year definitely made him better and he's been a different player since. He wasn't free mentally here, I seen his journey from the beginning you had to be there to understand the pressure the media put on him since he was young that Jordan and Kobe never dealt with.
