LeBron closing the gap in GOAT race caused MJ to make his documentary - Shannon | NBA | UNDISPUTED

Спорт

Michael Jordan agreed to do his documentary on the same day LeBron James had his 2006 NBA Finals victory parade in Cleveland. This raises the question, Is this just a coincidence or did Michael Jordan feel the pressure from LeBron James closing in on the GOAT race? Hear why Shannon Sharpe believes LeBron James is the main reason MJ agreed on the documentary.

    You have to accept the fact that Lebron is doing something that no one else is doing. 30,000 pts, 8,000 and 8,000. He’s not done yet. He’s eventually going to reach 40k 10k and 10k. There a lot of people that had won 6 nba finals but no one is gonna get close near to 40k, 10k, 10k.

Then why I can't compare Lebron to Tim Duncan cause he was the best Power Forward ever and Bron is the best Point Forward ever in the Scottie Pippen and Grant Hill before he got hurt. STOP COMPARING HIM TO JORDAN THERE IS NO COMPARISON ONLY THAT THEY BOTH ARE #23 From day one I said Lebron is a 00' version of Magic Johnson who by the time he got to Miami was built like Karl Malone the second best Power Forward ever! Kobe actually got there and in some ways his game was better than Jordan's. Kobe was a better shooter and ball handler than MJ in my opinion. I'm not taking anything away from Mike tho because there were parts of his game that were better than Kobe's. Jordan had these huge hands that helped him dominate the basketball, whereas Kobe's hands were rather small. I know that was random but anyways the two best players, hands down. What's crazy is that Jordan only truly played 11 full seasons in the NBA. In his second season, he sat out almost the entire season to a foot fracture and carried his team to a playoff birth. In 95, he came back at the end of the season. In his first season on the wizards, the dude blew his meniscus tendon and in the last season, he was just washed up and less than a shell of himself. Incredible career when you take into account that he accomplished all of that in 11 out of 15 of his seasons.

    To be honest, MJ is always gonna have 6-0 finals over every other greats. BUT I believe what makes others somewhat better is how you bounce back from losing finals and win it next year! The way Lebron melt in 2011 and came back destroy everything in his way in 2012 is crazy. The way Kobe lost in 08 and came back in 2010 to beat the same Cs, also the way Spurs lost in 2013 and how they were able to get it done in 2014 Is amazing! MJ never lost, so we wouldn't know how he would react to losing Finals, we just know he couldn't get out of first round and how he got out was when Pippen arrived

  • @Matt-cr4vv

    @Matt-cr4vv

    7 ай бұрын

    @stevechen1991 But we did see what MJ did when he lost and had to return from the disappointment and won the championship the following year. He made his return towards the end of that second season of his retirement when he didn’t have the legs to perform at his best during the playoffs and they lost in the semi finals to the magic. I get the idea of wanting to know how it would’ve been losing the finals and having to come back but to me it was a bigger hurdle to fall short early like they did against the magic where he fell short like he had in that series and they were so far away from the finals. How’d he respond? He was in the gym right away working on being in the shape he needed to get back to for basketball. And the result was we saw possibly the most dominant team to ever play in the NBA and that team followed that with two rings. So we do know how he would’ve responded had he ever lost in the finals because the one time he did fall short after he’d won the first ring he immediately went back into an obsession and the team that returned was arguably the best we ever saw. So it’s safe to say if he had lost in the finals, which he was never close to considering he never played a game 7 in the finals, we would have seen the same thing. We also saw his response to losing when they fought the pistons. So we can safely assume what he would have done because we saw that first hand in a different way.

    The first round thing is always a misleading one as well to me. Same for all the hate against LeBron during his first years on the cavs. Even the best players need other players to win championships. Just think about how against the Celtics in the year they’re talking about that Bulls team was so overmatched as a team that they got swept, many of those games not being close, despite MJ scoring 49 in game 1 and 63 in game 2. If you put up numbers like that and your team isn’t winning that’s a showing that every great player needs a team. Similar to how the cavs lost multiple finals against the warriors despite LeBron exposing the entire series. People have to get it out of their head that either of these guys won without a cast - the true evaluation is even if they lost did they ever vanish or did they play great and maybe their team just wasn’t as good. The issue with using team accomplishments to argue for individual talent.

    Haven't seen LeBron's Shut Up and Dribble doc, but wasn't how LeBron tried to make Jordan look in that doc that was a motivation for the Last Dance doc? As a way a saying "let me show you how things really are"? LeBron has always had a blind spot for the holes in his game. Early on his glaringly lack of an outside shot when he was going against Bruce Bowen is one example. You're not the greatest player in the world when the man that's guarding you can stand at the free throw line and leave you alone at the top of the key and not worry about you hitting a set shot. Jordan was accurate about his early on tendencies. And he still has holes in his game that he thinks he doesn't need to fix.

    See now you're changing the discussion from observation/analysis to actual physical performance. You scoffed at the analysis and I responded about the analysis, not the performance of said analysis. Once you realized he was right you change the arguement to "easier said than done." I'm not a LeBron fan but, despite that, I have to give him his due respect. Stay in context if you want to win arguements/debates.

    lol dan gilbert (as an owner) was fairly comparable to Krause. However, give Jordan the 06-07 Cavs team and he wouldn't make it past the second round. Jordan always needed a number 2 to get to the finals, Lebron has shown that he can take a bunch of scrubs to the finals (in his 2nd year in the NBA btw). I still think that Jordan edges Lebron, but your argument about him quitting on his team is stupid.

    Parth Sharma he was accused of quitting before. You act like the decision didn’t happen, he didn’t run to Miami. Left Miami when he couldn’t control the way things work there. Jordan had no where close to LeGM ever had control as player. If it was LeBron he would find a way to join Hakeem & Barkley. Payton & Kemp, Stockton & Malone. When those get old, he’ll team up with Shaq and Penny. Misinformed fxxk

    ClassicJM85 the thing is you need to be able to use logic. When you say 3-6 (like that’s somehow bad) it’s dumb, it’s like sayin you don’t have the ability to think logically or critically. If he were losing cause he wasn’t showing up I get it but man has been the best player on the floor with the exception of (07-11 and maybe 2014 although very debatable.
