I am Hindu but I truly appreciate Christian communities, they are there to help each other when in need, it's so saddening to see people suffering from severe inflation in such beautiful country.

I met a few Lebanese in Nigeria with Nigerian citizenship. They are loved and respected. One man, a road contractor lived a full 40 yrs in Nigeria and only returned to Lebanon when he was given a grave diagnosis.

Converting the old churches into mosque is a big NO from heaven. Blessed are those whose God is the Lord!

Lebanon was a dope country with a dope economy till the Lebanese Muslim with Palestinian muslim started to attack Lebanese Christians to rule over Lebanon with Islam. Result: Civil war which lasted 15 years (13 April 1975 - 13 October 1990). In the end Muslim Lebanese completly destroyed Lebanon which never recoverd.

Dot connect it & you will find weak government due to corruption, injustice & lack of accountability. Why so? Then it begs the another question, why don't the "dumb" people of the South throw away these senile old political beneficiaries and choose their own national leadership? In many ways, Lebanon reminds me of my own country, the Czech Republic, in that we are the most mafia country on Earth, with about 10% of the population involved in one or more criminal underground organisations. In some ways, that can actually be a good thing, because most of these are family-based informal organisations operating under free-market principles. The problem in Lebanon is religion. No religion, or any other ideology, political movement, or philosophy has ever benefited humanity. None. Religion is just a social control mechanism that conquers by division, by setting one group aside from the rest of society and thinking itself to be better than everyone else. Anybody (or any country) who believes themselves to be better than somebody else, is mentally defective and highly dangerous. Love and peace, from the Czech Republic.

Well yes people and countries eventually set up economies that work at some level when normal state controlled/regulated ones fail. Clearly Lebanon has issues, and has a two tier system based on the currency used Dollars/Euros vs the Lebanese Lira. The LL collapsed when the bank run ponzi scheme failed, and foreign investors fled to a large extent.Their economy could be fixed with some outside help and strict economic controls until a stable market system emerges. But the factions may not have the patience for that.

@@never2yield20 Zdena Frybova wrote extensively about exactly this situation, which happened in my country right after the de-Sovietisation of 1989. Lots of instability with Dollars worth more than their "official exchange rate" inside the country, and the Crown less than the "official exchange rate" outside the country. Many interesting things happened because the Crown was not freely convertible. It was only after convertibility was extablished that the rates were all the same. I could write a whole book on this.

I visited Beirut Lebanon over 10 years ago and this absolutely breaks my heart 🥺💔 I love that country and its people. I met some of the most amazing people there. I pray that the Lord Blesses Lebanon and they are able to change everything and start over better. Its sad how they are constantly at war. I pray one day they can finally learn how to live in peace.

The Christian's fed any and all that were hungry, instead of blaming and dividing ,the Fools need to be stopped, they are at the top, they don't care who they hurt along the way, God bless them all

Unfortunately corruption is a core part of Lebanese society. They will never be prosperous again unless a different country takes over them with altruistic motivations, which won’t happen. I feel sad for the people.

The problem is their government is not functioning at all and all banks are closed seems like, and I was in Beirut in the end of March, the rate was 1 USD to 89000 LB, I thought people are poor there, but still you see lots of fancy cars, houses, and busy fancy restaurants, just crazy world.

I was there at that time..we are living in Beirut Lebanon..walking distance only from the place where the explosion happened.Aug.4 2019.😔 Thanks God because we are all well with my employers until we travel to Dubai and stay there till I come home here in Phil.for good..

I am American 🇺🇸 of Lebanese ethnicity, my family came to America around 1960’s, most of the Lebanese people left the country. Lebanese government robbed the country and don’t care about their people. My family is blessed to be Americans, thanks to my uncle who came to America to visit and loved it, then he moved all of us to America 🇺🇸. God bless America 🇺🇸 and god bless the people of Lebanon 🇱🇧.

Hezbolla is the problem. The Lebanese people are wonderful. Those terrorists, sponsored by the Iranian government ( not the Iranian people), are so full of violence and hate. They want to make a Muslim caliphate and don’t care about human beings.
