This might be adressed in a future update or not (Gauss Prime ahead...), but DE forgot to adjust his Passive's shield recharge with the shield rework, so with just Fast Deflection slotted, Gauss is auto shieldgating via recharge delay at 100% battery, making him not only immune to IPS+heat+cold via his 2, but actually any and all hit damage.

@@rangedwolf1972 that's why I said DE forgot to adjust it: Gauss' Passive is independent of that mod value cap, so combining both pushes the delay under the minimum shieldgate duration, making you invincible.

Going to use some Guass speed and get the first comment in.. Another great video as always! Ive also slept on Guass and recently dusted him off and properly learned him and what his kit can do and I love it he is an all round good frame but does keep you on your toes when playing. I find playing Guass i havet to be focused at all times but if im awake and alert he is a great frame to play.

Nearly everyone underestimates Gauss. Even I don't use the frame as much as I should. Its got so many unique and powerful builds, too. Its one of the best melee frames, its probably THE best weapons platform (especially with Energized Munitions), it can go ability DPS, etc. Its incredibly tanky...like to a potentially insane degree, it can armor strip, it can freeze enemies solid, it can move around the map super fast, it can about triple your reload, attack speed, and fire rate. To top it all off, its got all these semi-obscure interactions that can do amazing things, too.

By the way, there is no reason to have build 2 be glass cannon. Trade Rolling Guard for Health Conversion, Arcane Acceleration (Gauss does NOT need more fire rate) for Arcane Blessing, and with all his other tankiness he's now basically unkillable.

Great vid! Love you have a dedicated section on rotation. I have almost the identical build and I struggle hard. I don't get it to do damage. How many heat stacks should I aim for before proccing combust with cold? Also once they're armour stripped is there any benefit on cycling between cold and hear or does it make more sense to spam heat?

I personally don't overthink the heat stacking. 10-20ish minutes in SP Survival with Redline @100% and Molt Augmented Stacked the blast combo still pretty much one shots most enemies. Eximus/Acolytes are where the stacks are needed more so. Once they're armour stripped I just stick with heat as much as I can, I may do a cold sometime later but it's not purposely to consume the heat procs, sometimes I just need that blast knockdown on some annoying enemies. If our builds are mostly the same I'm unsure why yours isn't dealing the same one shots, if it helps to add strength in then consider it as an option, maybe with the Archon Shards. I'm not very helpful here, just as perplexed as you are right now haha, there's no secrets. Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for reaching out and being engaging!

For some builds I subsume off the 3. Then you can trade away all your range.

Personally i would go for full on 5 str shards to be as close as possible to 100% with str exilus mod 200 is alr more than enough for gauss as more duration will give you more time on redline yes but it will also take longer to charge 200 is good balance Another thing You can use thermal transfer augment to buff weapon damage especially since you are usijg nourish .

For Gauss, Duration actually scales the fire rate and other buffs provided by redline, hence why you always stack duration, not just for QoL, but because it actually makes his redline stronger.

I have about 400% duration and jsut chilling with 2 mins abilities,while giving 100sec long Nourish to teammates,with 199-259 strength. Tho.. 34% tange and 45 eff XD

I can see that plastic toy hammer going to smack Gauss soon.

If anything, he'll get even better. His prime should have even more sprint speed

I wish spamming press / held abilities was easier on the switch because Gauss is a lot of fun.. cross save soon though.

You skipped one of the crazier niche things about Gauss: His 2's damage reduction... Is not capped like the others. With a little power strength, Redline active, and max battery, Gauss can be straight up IMMUNE to Impact, Puncture, Slash, Heat, Cold, and Blast. So.... Almost everything a non-Eximus Grineer can do to him, and most of the Corpus as well. Immunity is insanely hard to come by, as most every form of damage reduction in the game has been capped to 90%, so this is not nothing, especially as it really only requires 1% extra power strength to be achievable. Obviously more is better, but needing one strength mod to be capable of straight immunity to the most common damage types is nuts. A nice synergy here is that, at maximum Redline, you get a melee damage bonus while Kinetic Plating is active, and a chance to stagger enemies on hit. Officially it's a 100% chance, but there's clearly something hidden in the background going on there, as it doesn't go off constantly. Regardless, melee counts as moving for Redline, so you can pop 2 and 4 and be immune to MOST things, while doing damage. This allows straight up face tanking Archon Amar, and with minimal work you can make a build that can nearly face tank the other two Archons as well. Gauss may not officially be a tank, but you can definitely make him one if you want, and it's crazy good.
