My Leatherman Wingman has paid for itself many times over during the past year or so. I mean, I love my Swiss army knife but there is no substitute for a solid, durable Leatherman. That is definitely a decent one you have there Beez. Happy holidays to you and yours, brother.

I’m a sheet metal worker. I received a leatherman as a Christmas gift from the company’s owner 18 years ago. I kept it at work cause it came in very handy for many things. Some how it grew legs and walked off a year or two ago. Thanks for a great vid Beez. You made me miss the darn thing lol.

I got my first Leatherman for Christmas from my gf at the time like 7 yrs ago and fell in love! She followed up the the next year with the Wave+ and it’s AMAZING! I have the ratchet attachment and a bit kit. It even has a secret pop-up lanyard ring so you don’t have to buy the lanyard attachment

Thanks Beez! 3 Points 👉 Congratulations on your first Real multitool (now you know!), Your 'ratchet driver' sound effect is the best ever (should record and sell), If I'm ever having a bad day and think it just can't get worse ... I just retrieve my Leatherman pliers, pluck out a few nose hairs, and it puts everything in perspective ! I have owned either Wave or Surge forever ... but never the Ti Charge (looking forward to your future evaluation!).

I've own Leatherman tools of one kind or another for 40 years or so and the original wave I've had for 20 years, an employee about 13 years ago broke the tip off one of the jaws, I reshaped the tips on a bench grinder and it worked just as good as it did when I bought it, this same tool I was using at a cogeneration power plant in North California lost it in the sawdust and found it again after I ran over it in a full sized front end loader. They are a tuff tool. Just bought the Wave + for my son's brother inlaw for a Christmas present.

I find that the old adage of “you get what you pay for”, no longer applies to knives. We have found amazing budget knives. Multi tools however, still follow that rule. Hey Beez. 😊 Great video. I have the Leatherman 300. I like that you can get to your knife blades without opening the handles. I can't on mine. These Leatherman tools are built tough. I've never hand a problem except for some specks of rust inside the handles. If I ever get another set I want some that are blackened. Thanks for the video it was very interesting.😊 See you in the live.

Great video Beez!

i have a LM Surge, New owner. i love it so far, use it to work. the beefer scissors are good for zip ties. however not complete sunshine and rainbows. my 1st surge was a bit too solid. all of the tools were a little tough to get out. the main blade detent was wildly stiff (to a point where it hurt my thumb) and the main blade had play. returned it and replaced it. 2nd one is damn near perfect. everythings easy to use, tools are tight. only issue is that it has a hair, and i do mean a HAIR. of play when its all shut up. when deployed there is not a lick of play. its lovely.

The charge is the same tool but better blade and probably more comfy hand feel. I've been using a Charge ALX for years. I love it! Only negative is it doesn't have the replaceable wire cutters because it's older but it's still held up to plenty of use. To answer a question, no they don't have other micro bits but if you get on the leatherman website you can buy all the replacement bits(including a glass breaker bit) and the pocket clip and all that jazz. I think their site has fair prices and they've always shipped fast. I'm glad you're excited for your new tool!

I definitely think the changeable wire cutters are the way to go cause I’m pretty sure those are carbide inserts and in that case they are going to be solid and you’ll probably get lots of miles from them before having to replace them.

  • @mooseduty5426
    @mooseduty5426 Жыл бұрын

I love a good Leatherman multitool they really do come in handy for all sorts of reasons. The ratchet driver, the proprietary bit set, the "secret/hidden" lanyard tool and all the rest get good use while camping. You can get really cool pocket clips for Leatherman online as well. The only competitor for me is SOGs multitool with the gear driven compound leverage mechanism (very very impressive) despite not getting very many blades from them for obvious reasons. P.S. Beez I don't know if the intent on the wire cutter was to replace them but to remove them. It seems strange but in some places it is illegal to carry wire cutters. Even in TX you can open carry everything from a tiny slippy knife, to a 5" trench knife, a sword and up to a variety of boom sticks but get caught with wire cutters in cattle country🥺!?! You may end up with a fine or jail time...BGood

Awesome . Winston cigarettes has a little leather man ps4 in their rewards so I ordered one last week and it came right away . They let you enter 30 pack codes a month type of thing and it took 3-4 to get it . I was suprised how cool and smooth this little multi tool is and evenly lined up the the pliers teeth are . I actually used them to pull a splinter 🙂They can work like tweezers pretty good tbh amd all around again it’s very smooth and thought out in operation . Leather man fan . I ve always had the $10 one from Walmart is actually not bad folks , not bad at all for a larger version 👍. Comparing the two I can see how well made and higher quality the leather man tools are , good job leather man

*I use cheap light ones, (less than $5) and if and when they fail, I toss them.* *I only need them when I'm far away from good tools, such as at home, or in my vehicle, which is very rare.* *Like you I never bought a Leatherman multitool yet, (63 yo) the cost kept me away, and still does.* *Thanks for showing it, I was hoping it was a budget version, maybe $25., as I couldn't justify spending more for such a tool.* *I actually have a very expensive Gerber, but it sits on my desk, as like this Leatherman, it's a little too hefty, and low priority to my EDC.* 👍 *# 6*

Copy that. When I was perusing the website, I did see that they have some smaller ones in the $30's range. I'm hoping to check them out in the near future, too. Hope you're having a great day, my friend! I'm drinking a cup of coffee that I made with fresh ground coffee beans! I got a coffee bean grinder for my birthday, and I get to have some fancy coffee on the weekend. Friday and Saturday are my weekend so I'm already in it to win it! 😂 See you tonight at the Hivestream!

And just for the record...... I've been using leatherman for years and years and NEVER had a problem with any of the knives cutting or stropping back... yes s30v is better.... but you'll never have a problem with the other blade steel....and leathermans warranty..... that's DEFINITELY something you should have mentioned...... cuz it's one of the best I've ever used.....

Methinks the blade may be made by Buck. They have long MASTERED working with that steel. It's easy to sharpen and holds up well enough for a true working tool. One of my favorite elements of the Wave (and Wave+) is that diamond coated file. It is PERFECT for... wait for it.... wait for it... wait... Fingernails. Far, far better than any other file I've found on any multi-tool or SAK. I have the Wave+, it replaced the Wave on my hip. More than 1/2 dozen Leatherman tools call me "Owner", but they aren't in an EDC rotation. Wave+. About the only time I'm not wearing it when I leave the house is if I'm no wearing a belt. Speaking of "belt". Get the LEATHER sheath. You will not regret it.

If I may make a suggestion, instead of buying the Charge+ TTi you should consider the Charge+ G10. $10 cheaper AND it has better pliers. The problem with the TTi version is the pliers have a useless wire stripper which cuts the pliers grip in half. The G10 version of the Charge+ does not have this issue. The orange g10 is available on the Leatherman site and the red g10 is available on amazon. I'm getting the red one for christmas from the wife lol. My first Leatherman.

I’ve had several Leathermans and Gerbers and a couple other poopers. Leatherman’s quality is untouchable. Although I do currently keep a Gerber Centerdrive in my truck with a Bosch bit set. Had the Leatherman had a normal bit holder then I would have bought it. Actually took me a few weeks to pull the trigger on the Gerber instead. Big struggle.

Like you, I have only ever had cheap multi-tools. I have been thinking about getting a decent one lately so this video is right on time. This is one I may have to consider. I like the one hand opening blade and the fact that it is a liner lock. 🤯 Who knew they had a feature like that on a multi-tool? I’ll be working but I will definitely sneak on for the live stream when I can.

I've tried various brands but always come back to Leatherman. Although they are starting to get $$$ they are worth it. Leatherman 1) offer the best usable tool options + 2) have a great product range so that there's a model for everyone + 3) last forever. I admit that the blades aren''t the best but as I always carry better it's not an issue. I have a Rebar & Sidekick that are both about 10 years old and going strong with near daily use. More recently about 3 years ago I bought an OHT which I love. Sharp blades all.

My grandfather had a set of the original Leatherman and he carried them fo so long the knife was half as tall as it was when it came cause he sharpend it so many times I finely bought him the Rev cause he wanted new one but he didn't want one size of the wave I should see if I can find that old Leatherman take a pic put it on Instagram you be like wtf the blade was half tall cause was sharpen so many times. I now have the Rev cause he passed away. But they are made to withstand the test of time that original pair gramps had lasted 25 years many longer they never broke he just had sharpen them so much I was like there less than half blade on there that when I got him the new pair he used them for everything.
