I had one like that, just without the removable blade. Worst decision ever. Was cutting water line and since the blade is on the outside and so is the lock, I must have bumped the lock and slam goes the blade right on my thumb. The blade needs to be on the inside so if the lock fails if won’t close on your hand. Luckily got my with about 4 stitches.

Hey man ive been loving your content lately! I have a leatherman surge problem and i was hoping maybe you could share some advice? I used it when i was fishing a few months back and i accidentally cut myself with the straight blade pretty bad but when i jerked my hand away, it bent the blade i guess? But it wasnt the blade it mustve been the little t screw that secures it, but now on the side with the blade and the little saw , whenever i try to close the blade and/or the saw, it scrapes the sides of the leatherman real bad and i guess its not centered right in the slot. Any tips would be much appreciated, ive scoured youtube and leatherman reddit to no avail.

@@maxlvledc ive tightened it down and it still does the same thing. Also its kind of hard to find a sweet spot, if i tighten it down too much then the blades dont want to open but then when i dont have it tight enough theres play in the blade, but the thing is when i have it tight, it tucks the blade in JUST enough where it doesnt scrape the insides when i close it, only problem with that is like i said before it makes it impossible to open and close with any sort of ease
