The Victorinox Multitools are the only ones allowed to carry in Germany because of two hand opening. And the old version Leathermans of course, like the Supertool and rebar

Considering Germany's rich knife heritage, I find it crazy that you are so limited... One handed opening makes it so much handier...

Love my Skeletool, it’s my most carried Leatherman. I too decided to use one of the combo bits with it until I stripped the Philips side trying to tighten a screw head that was slightly too large for it. After that I went back to the original double-size bits it came with so I could get a better fit when needed.

The Signal is another fun lightweight one to carry. Price is rediculous but it is still an awesome carry. Some 3rd party options available to replace the whistle/ferro rod and cheesy sharpener into more useful bit holders.

Another great video Dave. Im a huge Leatherman fan. Only issue I have with the Arc is the magnets and metal filings. It is not a multitool that I would have on my belt while at work. At home , no problem. That goes for the Free P2 also.

Yeah, I am kicking myself for not getting into multitools earlier. I just never saw the point of them, but now that I have a ton of Swiss Army knives and several multitools, I am wondering how I lived my life without them...

@@SquireSCA I bought the SwissTool spirit X (no production markings on it but I suspect it's came after the spirit MX clip) and has the same loosened mechanism without the one hand opening. My normal Swisstool was a pig with my nails. This new one. Is perfection, but I like my Suspension clone to beat up. This one is my precious.

@@namelesske Yeah, my local knife store has one in stock and its WAY looser and easier to open than mine. I am gonna try to take some tension out of my springs, and if that doesn't work I may just toss it and go get one that I can test first, to make sure it's one of the new ones... But right now I have literally no thumb nails left and I have ripped my nail beds trying to use and work this thing in... Now I can't open it at all till my nails grow back. It's such a nice, well made tool... but if I need to carry a Leatherman in order to open it up and access the tools, then that's a problem. haha

@@SquireSCA I think the spring is not a problem, maybe you should apply gentle sideways force at the bottom one of the tools to loosen up the rivets. I recommend you to use a leather padded vice and be very careful. Try few times and test how tools are close, in theory everything should return normal you don't want bend anything.

@@namelesske Yeah, I am gonna let the local knife shop take a crack at it. I have been reading up a lot on this and it was a common problem with them earning it the name "nail breaker"... Supposedly, when they went to the one handed opening model, they softened the springs to make it easier to open... So I think that newer Spirit X's have those softer springs. The one at the store was a LOT easier to open than mine. I hate to have to buy a new one, so I am gonna try to leaving it 3/4 open for a week and put those springs under pressure and see if they relax a little over time. I am hoping this works, as it is one of the nicest multitools on the market. If not, I may just have to buy a new one that I can verify has the softer springs...

I've had the Charge AL for years, but I hardly ever use it, it's just too big and heavy,,. I got the Skeletool CX a few weeks ago, and I carry it every day, 👍.. I should have got one years ago,, it's great,,. I initially took off the pocket clip to make it slimmer, but I've since put it back on, and it's much better now,, It's a shame that over here in England, I could be prosecuted for carrying it outside my own property, and, (worse case scenario) , go to prison,, 😱😢

It truly is a shame. I feel bad for folks like you that want to carry a basic tool for everyday tasks, but your government decides that you can’t for fear of going to prison. Who gave the government the authority to do that? SMH.

Best thing you can do is get the combo phillips/slot bit.

@@SquireSCA for me, it’s either the glass breaker bit or if you have something you carry that uses Torx, it’s that Torx. Right now, I got the glass breaker as the spare. But a Torx for any Acro P2 would be good too.

I tend to carry them alone. That's why I prefer the ones with larger blades on them, so that I can have everything in one toolset.
