@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Nice Christina 🙂...it's so easy to get lost in the production line of painting, producing so much and very little for oneself. I'm currently working on a keeper myself in between shop stuff. I'm playing with a mint paper. Should be up on instagram soon 💖
Christina, I love the leather chair redo! I'm getting more inspired to redo my leather sofa and chair! Thanks so much! Love your tutorials!

I have the exact same armoire and am in the process of refinishing it in a blue/grey tone. It's a lovely piece-:)
Hi. New subscriber here! While I love what you did with both pieces, the armoire struck home with me. My husband and I just came across a gorgeous wooden front door that we had to take back to the wood and talk about crevices! We finally finished and it is so beautiful. Our $50. find was so worth the work. That was one reason for subscribing. You aren’t a afraid of hard work too. The other reason for subscribing is that you remind me of a true blue friend of mine named Lesa. She’s such a great person, well I know you are too. Can’t wait for more projects. 👍🏼🤍

Wow Christina.....awesome video on two big projects🙌🏻🙌🏻 that armoire transformation is amazing🤩 I bet you were doing a happy dance with completing that.....tons of work....but oh so worth it🌟❣️ Now the chair....I’m speechless....I’ve seen leather painted ( went and watched your painted leather chair...,also amazing and would never know it was chalk paint🤓 blending those colors....fantastic result) I didn’t know you can dye leather....Wow....looks so comfy and inviting and meticulously executed....you never cease to amaze me.....I have a question ....around 30 years ago my Mom bought my dad a leather lazy boy recliner in 80s green....yes she did....it’s been in storage bc of the color.....not sure I’m ready for a project like this ( skill set lacking🙄) so for the novice do you think painting or dying would be the way to go? Of course I would practice on something smaller and I am such a perfectionist....it keeps me from trying new things....it’s no t getting use now....so might as well give one a try...any advise is always appreciated....thank you for sharing these WOW projects❣️🌟😊k
@TheReclaimedHeirloom
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kimberly Thank you 🙏 so much for your kind words and thoughtful comment ❤️I really appreciate your feedback and support! Based on your project and question I recommend trying the leather dye since your lazyboy recliner is already a real leather. Also because your chair is already the green (80's) lol 😂 I can completely see it in my mind! but I am also guessing its in perfect condition 😉 Trying to go lighter might be tricky so I also recommend something in similar tone colour or not to far off. There is 16 colours to choose from so definitely have a look at the colours. I think its a fantastic idea for what you are looking for! The process is not long and of course you don't have to use the dark wax you can you leather condtioner or bee's wax. Not sure of the cure time but the product will have the details regarding that 😉 Keep me posted if you go forward and I would love to see your final result, also please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions 👍☺️

Funny that dauber is exactly like ones that came in our shoe polish. On a different video I comment I lived in Vancouver BC as a kid. So we had several boots and shoes. Unlike when we moved to sunny Southern California when I was 9. Flip flops most of the year! My mother had us polishing our shoes which must have been leather. Always scuffed toes! I wonder if similar product. I remember the smell almost making me pass out! Saw a leather chair cheap, locally just today. Thanks for sharing these ideas!

Christina I went to Home Depot with all the info on what model sander I have and I had someone help me get a shop vac and a hose and a hock up too hock up to my sander. If the hock up to the sander and the hose does not fit you can cut it to fit. I wanted to see if I could sand inside without wood flying everywhere and it worked. I have some projects I want to do on my walls and bathroom that I can't take outside and also there are times when I am trying to finish a big project and the piece of furniture I am working on is too heavy too carry outside. It works just like you are hand sanding. The particles of wood do not fly in the air. Also the the shop vac is better then any vacuum cleaner I have ever used.lol! With the hose, hock up and shop vac I spent under $75.00. It has been a life changer because my craft room is not really close to an outside door and I hate dust period and if I miss something and can't hand sand it this is a great solution, plus it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars and again it prevents the wood particles from flying everywhere and its just like hand sanding. Its worth it!!!
As previously mentioned, I learn something new with each of your amazing videos. Love the outcomes of both but I’m in awe of the Leather Chair!

I thrifted a pair of leather accent pillows and think it will work on them as well.
Beautiful chair. I'm sure there were instructions on how to prep the leather to best accept this dye, using pure acetone cleans the surface, preps the leather and dries much faster than TSP and water. I got this tip from watching the Elegant Oxford channel. He dyes leather shoes all the time. I've done two old leather pillows and it worked very well.
Love the both project, you did a great job. 👍🌺❤️❤️
