LEARNING TRICKS IN MY 30's (Day #1)

I've recently turned 31 years old and am wondering how much longer I'm going to be able to keep pushing myself and progressing in skateboarding
I've decided to start this series and keep pushing myself to progress and learn new tricks and skate the best that I can for as long as I can 🙌🏼
This is episode #1 trying to learn big spin front board shuvit out

As a 47 year old who skates 2 or 3 days a week, you’ve got years ahead of you. I prioritized my health a few years ago which cut out booze and added the gym several days a week. Neen Williams is a great example. Also Kris Markovich is at my local at least 4 days a week at 50 or 51 and he’s still progressing. Take care of your health and age just becomes a number.

I'm 36 and I get everything you're saying in the beginning of your video. But seeing guys older than us still skating and learning is an inspiration and hope that we can continue to skate in our golden years. We got this man! What I do before a session I do yoga poses to stretch out my legs and lower back. (back issue as well). I'll do that for five minutes and then ride around for ten minutes before I even pop and ollie. After that I'm good to go.

I'm 37 and I only recently got back to skateboarding. I feel your pain but I take it as fun and I don't push myself really hard. Yoga can definitely help your body and mind. To me, skateboarding had always been about having fun and every progression came from there. Take it easy, have fun and be thankful for what you've got. PS Foam rolling before and stretching after your session can also help a plenty. I guess that before and after you are sitting in your car extensively. Cycling can also help a plenty. Your weight also plays a big role as it increases the pressure on your joints.

Don’t worry. I turned 42 back in September. I’m not even sure how many new tricks I learned last year, but it was definitely over 50. Some were super easy, but some of them were difficult. The last Friday I learned Switch FS Slappies (which I talked about in another comment on another video). Before that, it was Switch Crook and before that, it was Switch FS Board. You may find yourself at 50 in awe that you’re still learning new tricks.

34 and it takes forever to warm up. I related so much with your "not ready for ollies". I skate on my lunch pretty much everyday the weather allows. Only problem is it takes me about 32min to warm up and I only have 30min to skate lol. I love it but it gets frustrating when I'm just working up the chops to try new things (or just land the things I know I can do already) and I need to leave. I normally hate long vlog style videos but I really enjoyed this. Just kind of mellow, following along with the process. It's a good one!

Yeah dude, it can still be pretty weird learning how to slide backwards and then land switch but I know a lot of people that have leant front board to fakie first since they just fully turn into it like a back 180 instead of learning how to slide backwards with your shoulders square ten turn your hips back out but everyone learns differently I guess 🤷🏽‍♂
