Hi Mindy How did you get through Kean College? I started out at beautiful Brookdale and transferred to Kean and after 3 classes dropped out. I was so disappointed in the Fine Art Area. They had no audio video, one of the teachers spent most of his time in his office rather than in the class room, the sink in the class room was leaking and unusable, the bathroom sink was on the floor for many months - these are just some of the reasons I never returned. And now, like you, have discovered the online classes of NYBG. I just love them. Being 3 classes into the certificate, my teacher has suggested that I revisit draw 2. Her quote, "You need to review light on form and lighting your subject. This is very important as you continue to move on in more advanced classes. Go back to the simple shapes from drawing 2 and apply that knowledge to your work" and This is how I stumbled upon your Utube.

Hi Moom04. I was lucky when I went to Kean as I was an art major but was studying Fiber Arts. The teacher was Sheila Fox and she was the most amazing teacher. She lit a fire in me and I went crazy....learned to weave, worked on a sheep farm, grew natural dyes and did everything fiber related. We have remained friends for over 40 years and she was so instrumental in my development. So glad you found NYBG. It is a great program. I graduated, taught and coordinated the program for 15 years. I have lots of videos, courses etc on natural and botanical illustration. I designed a course on Light on Form at NYBG when I was there. It is a great way to get form and dimension in your art. Enjoy the program! Cheers! Mindy
