    I have the same problem what helps me is to practice the motions at home not just at the gym I can’t go to the gym 7 days a week but i can go 2 or 3 so if for 15-30 mins a day I just practice my posture when I show up to class I’m less embarrassed. (Except I still can’t get skipping down it makes me so embarrassed hahaha)

    Some people learn faster some take their time. Consistency is the key here. We all learn by practicing again and again. You'll definitely learn it, just don't give up 🤟

    Nuengsiam Fairtex was ny second mentor. Before he left for the USA, he was kind enough to teach me clinching basics. Now I train three times per week, and alternate fourth round with clinching and sparring. Here is yours truly doing padwork at 76++. I started muaythai at 57. Prior to that, muaythai camp would not accept non fighters for training. Fairtex changed all that. I've celebrated my 77th birthday, and still train three times per week. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqph2MSPYpi5c7Q.html

    Just started MT. My background as a lifelong, year round multi-discipline athlete, including some boxing, isn’t doing me any good at all! I feel like a lumbering, uncoordinated oaf out on the mat. But my instructor is, fortunately, a man of great patience. He’ll need it. Thanks for these great videos. I can only imagine being able to kick like this, so confidently and athletically.

    Do you have tips with checking kicks? It feels pretty hard to know if they do a low kick, mid kick or head kick and even when i know i sometimes check too late and they hit my knee.

    Are you supposed to hit with your shin or your foot? I can't tell for sure.

  • @CombatCultureUSA

    @CombatCultureUSA

    Definitely your shin! There's a lot of small bones in your foot that susceptible to micro-fractures from impact.

    I accidentally kicked someone's pointed elbow someone at maybe 25% strength with my foot without shin protectors and ended up limping for a couple days. You'll definitely wanna try to hit with your shin

    @@Shaqiliciouss that was a hard lesson I just learned the other day doing exactly what you just said, except I was more at like 75% power. Luckily no broken bones, but damn does it hurt. I'm still new and really ambitious. I need to remind myself to tone it down and focus more on technique.
