Thank you! I felt like every other video I watched made me wit seem like the stitch would show on the fashion fabric. This made sense!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video. Probably the most timely, illustrative example I've ever seen on the execution of pad stitching. You even clarified the detail difference between diagonal basting & padding. Can you please help me clear up one last bit of confusion? Everyone says the goal of padding is to only take a "bite" of 1 to 2 threads of the fashion fabric of your horizontal stitches so the result is like blind hem stitching. But the horizontal float stitches always look so angled so you end up with that very distinctive chevron pattern you always see. To get these two results seem in direct contrast. Or am I missing something.....?

Hi, Robert. Thank you so much for your reply on the video. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm actually going to be doing a revision to this video very soon and showing an example of how to do a pad stitch on an actual under collar. this will not only demonstrate how to do a pad stitch but it will also demonstrate how to roll using a pad stitch which more times than not is the objective in using that stitch. So keep your eyes peeled for that new video to come soon. Thank you again

@@americanbespoketailoring Can't wait to see it. As I look back at my question; my apologies for being overly wordy. In a nutshell, your diagonal float stitches on top looked only slightly angled - like you'd expect - if the horizontal stitches underneath are only supposed to be picking up 1-2 threads of the self fabric. But all the other pad stitching examples I've seen show sharp diagonal floats. (Confusing) I look forward to more learning & growing with your next video.

@@IFUNKIDRED I will definitely do my best to provide a detailed explanation so you know exactly what's going on. But yes you are only picking up like one tiny little fiber when your pad stitching particularly the lapel.
