As another Manc love it! Billy picked up the accent so much whenever Misbah said something
As a person that lives in south Manchester, these words are very new to me except for the classic “ ar kid” she’s from north ! Typically in the south it’s mixed with ldn slang/ manc , ask a manc from north ! Manchester is BIG and it keeps getting big !

Completely agree! I’m from Stockport and I’d say I have a Cheshire accent not a manc accent although I do say a couple of the manc phrases just with a more ‘proper’ pronunciation (no dropped letters)

this video was well mint 😁 i definitely add the that/her/me/you etc at the end of sentences "i'm going out me" "where you going you" etc we drop a lot of words because we're concise 😌

Mint is used to mean excellent in the States too. Wicked for good also. Brew means beer. Hey but it's fun to listen to all these different accents .
This guy knows his languages, he speaks better English than most people born here. Misbah is clearly a Northern Manc, I recognise the accent as being from there, having lived in Newton Heath, Blackley and Higher Blackley, now residing in leafy Whitefield, Bury, still north of Manchester. South Manchester is a slightly different accent, inner city (Ancoats, Miles Platting, Collyhurst) is even more different, then there's Salford, different again...
I was hoping she would mention the “meh” 😂 Thats another way to tell if someone’s proper Manc
Awesome ! Gonna use this video with my student who's gonna stay in Manchester for a couple of months !
My family is from Manchester and this is spot on!
Like that, but especially for a topic like this, really good mics and less echo would greatly help to fully get it. Thanks mate, that was mint, that!
Thanks Billy. I watch your all videos. I like your all videos. 😊😊😊
Thanks, that was very interesting!
It's always fun to learn new ways to speak English ... that's mint that Mancunian accent that!
Misbah is lovely! Great video, made me think about how I speak! 😁
Thanks for teaching us guyss
House/ home can be called a gaff in the mcr, good video
i'm from Gorton, but have a different accent/dialect to her, even though it's the same city there's still a variety of accents!

This is true. I’m from South Manchester, which is quite distinct from north Manchester. Mad for it isn’t actually that widely used. Our kid is funny because it can be your younger or elder brother. The girl in the video sounds like south Manchester

@@hudsonquay Yes, my brother grew up in Cheadle, so we have completely different accents! Misbah sounds a bit Crumpsall way to me. And yes, nobody really says "mad fer it" no more, but i'm a lot older than Misbah, and maybe you, and i defo remember it being said a lot during the 80's Madchester era. Think it's said more ironically now though
loving the automatic subtitle on youtube, it's so confusing! typical reaction of a southerner, haha
@KoreanBilly The return of the king :D
It's nice to have someone who actually does have a manc accent! haha - greetings from Tameside

great vid guys! it should include ‘angin!! same meaning as minging

These aren't just restricted to Manchester but most of North England and some used all ov er UK.
너무나도 유익하고 재밌어요

Omg I love misbah!
I m in love with manchester accent
As a child my family taught me to say my ts but I do still miss the gs at the end of words. Lol. I live near Stockport so our accents are a little softer. I never understood why Liam and Noel speak like they do. I know people from Burnage and they sound more like me with a softer accent. The Oasis accent sounds put on to me. I never understood why. They are a similar age to me now.

True. I was brought up in South Manchester and it's not that strong, apart from Wythenshawe is abit stronger. North Manchester is stronger. Alot of his is put on.
whenever people say the manchester accent they automatically think of noel and liam south or stockport side, when really theres such a different accent for the northern half of manc all the stops on the bury line and the north side. good to see some representation of the north of manc for once cos as we all know the north is better ;)
영국에 갈 일도 없고 영국사람과 대화할 일도 없지만 영상은 재밌어서 정주행하면서 다 봄 ㅋㅋ
Lived in Heywood and Middleton myself
There is great
Could you do Derbyshire?
When I try this accent people think I’m still struggling learning English pronunciations😂
I'm trying to find out what the accent is of some of the characters in the Britbox show, The Bay. The last long "e" sound in a word is pronounced "eh". So a teenage girl named Abbie pronounces her name "Abbeh". "Maybe" is "maybeh" (or "mehbeh"). It's more pronounced than what I've heard with other British accents. I think I hear it in this woman's "You need to baff the 'babeh'." Does that strong "eh" identify Abbie's accent as Mancunian?
LOOOVVEE THIS VIDEOOO! north manc reppppp!
I very much suspect that the doubling of the pronoun at the end of a sentence serves two Mancunian purposes, each of them oriented toward social grace, working in concert. The one is that it affords an opportunity to "end on a high note," which is to say slide the voice from a lower to a higher note. The other is that is pretty much announces it's the other person's turn to speak.
I like scratching things.

Rah until I watched thos I didn't have any idea I spoke a bit like her. I'm from inner Manchester like moss side and fallowfield innit so we don't have much of that accent we just kinda like half londoner half northern mancunian. This is so weird. I've heard of most except a ginnel.

This is so funny how Liverpool & Manchester are basically like sister cities, yet the accent is SO different. At least to someone who's from that way. So my family are all.in Liverpool & the accent is just SO strong & distinctive. I feel like the the Liverpool accent is like somewhat similar to the Manchester accent but on steroids 😂 Just extra dramatic/spicy - just like the Liverpoodlians 😂
I don't really get told to close the door I get told to "put wood in hole" which I know sounds really weird and inappropriate but it's just put the wood (door) in hole (doorframe). (Do any mancs else hear this phrase or is my family weird?!)
She's quite posh and probably from not one of the estates Check out Colin Blaney for a true manc accent. Bez from Happy mondays sounds salford and Paul massey from salford. True mancs say Oh instead of AH See yo (as in sh'ot').
I think that the accent Mancunian is pronounce like a french speaking English, have a some of french accent.

4:08 that "only tea" was a bit naturally scouse there Billy lad
So does she say 'erb' then (much like the Yanks) instead of 'herb'?

Some of the words sound like Korean or japanese. What a crazy thing I never know these manchester way to talk
Ayyyy crumpsall!!
American just wishing I could have been born in Manchester 😫❤
Interest'in
So, She's a mint her 💙
This is hilarious being a manc myself
I can explain the 'its good that' and 'shes good her' I think. Just saying 'thats good' or 'shes good' sounds insincere, like we have more to say or like we dont really care. If I told my friend I got a new job and they said 'oh thats good' I would be waiting for a '...but'. If they said 'thats good that' I know they arent going to carry on and they arent being sarcastic. I guess being sarcastic and negative is in our nature haha, we need that extra bit of emphasis.
Misbah, come over to Toronto, Canada, I will host you for free to teach me your accent.
Very North Manchester haha South Manchester is a lot more nasal and less drawn-out/dipthong-y
hUndred percent!
