It is incredibly more dangerous to have rubber/latex or nitrate gloves on when brazing than to have nothing on your hands. Get that kid a pair of cheap leather work or welding gloves and teach him about personal protective equipment (PPE) 1st... One wrong move and that rubber will melt to the skin on his hands and his skin will be replaced with pig skin after being treared for 3rd degree burns from the gloves catching fire!
