    I understand, what helps me is that they are human too and make mistakes. Allah created us in a way where can commit mistakes, but he also created us in a way where we can apologise and take accountability. If they do that, as the Prophet saw advised, forgive them. If they don’t, love them and forgive them, so that Allah will have mercy on you both. This is all temporary, Allah has been, is, and will be forever.

    May Allah bless you for your work on justice. I live in Nigeria and see injustice play out day after day. This has inspired me to pick as study for my PhD thesis, the subject of justice to female victims of GBV by unknown perpetrators. What is the cause of justice for such persons. I'm concluding inter alia, that in the spirit of community responsibility, we need to support such person so that we build equitable communities that we desire. So imagine my excitement and gratitude when I listened to this heart warming talk from which I have boosted my thesis and my thinking about how to make our communities better for the most vulnerable.Jazakhallahu khairan brother Omar.

    Powerful reminder , syeikh. Jazakallah khair. Sadly, me & my family are in a situation (at certain times each day) where we feel we’re being disrespected /zholim for the last 3 yrs by our own neighboring brothers in their mosque (located about 2km from our house). Their loudspeaker is extremely loud not just during azan, they even put up some kind of fajr prayer wake up call along with islamic preach n quran recitations @ early hours (bfore 4a.m)every day in shocking loud voice. ! My husband who’s a lecturer had no choice but stop his lecture/online class whenever this occured. We’ve been living in this neighborhood for more than 20yrs now, and this abnormal “noise nuisance’ is just taking away our peaceful life that we had before this started. Once we had some guests n we had to wait til the loud speech stops for more than 30 minutes bfore we could have a decent conversation . We’ve prayed & asked Allh to open the hearts & minds of the peple in charge there, that they would come to their senses & remove their ignorance towards their neighbours (muslim & non muslims). Thank u again for sharing this beautiful message, syeikh.🙏🏻

    Assalam'alaykum brother Omar. Thank you for this beautiful lecture. May Almighty Allah increase you in beneficial knowledge... In a case of a spousal continuous emotional abuse, even though the one being abused is willing to keep forgiving and taking it all in good stride, hoping for Allah's reward in return; is it not okay to also put into consideration the kids that would be brought up in such kind of atmosphere, by walking away from such toxic relationship, so as not to continue the cycle of narcissism? Even though one might be strong enough to forgive and let go, what about the kids that might grow up learning the narcissistic behavior of the said parent, how can that kind of cycle be broken?

  • @muppet7095

    @muppet7095

    3 жыл бұрын

    You're right about walking away from toxic, abusive marriages, esp one involving a narcissist or NPD. No knowledgeable scholar will advocate putting up with spousal and child abuse in the name of forgiveness. Even if you decide to endure it, which Islam doesn't ask you to do, sustained stress of this kind inevitably leads to chronic disease. It benefits no one.

  • @rumarnaki6218

    @rumarnaki6218

    3 жыл бұрын

    Mia you are wright chronic stress can lead to physical illnesses and disabilities, also children of narcissist's can become one themselves if their in that environment too long. Forgiveness doesn't mean you stay with them, you can leave them and still forgive them for what they did previously, whilst making sure you don't do the same to others or your own kids. I think forgiveness is moving on, it's takes a lot of courage to too that.
