Learning Animation - Week 2
Flour bags! First walk cycle! Animation exercises are surprisingly fun!
I post these videos to document every animation exercise I do while learning by myself. Maybe it will be helpful to someone later on :))
I appreciate criticism, constructive or not :)))
Thank you for watching!

"Learning"? No, you already know, you're "improving" now Bro 🗿🍷.
I think the bag is my new favorite character
When the sack flopped I felt it in my soul.
this is insane! it deserves more views. hopefully the algorithm will do it's work.

Thank you!! ^^
Absolutely phenomenal. Something about 2D animation is just unmatched, nothing will ever replace it.
Don't be afraid to use more wind up and follow through. That's what gives alot of animation that lively feel. Also amazing work! Keep it up!
you're going to be a very skilled animator! And your approach is awesome !!!

I LOVED the perspective falling brick and the rice sack. The sack especially can help you visualize weight with each movement
holy crap, that cube fall blew me away, mad respect
"Thank you for watching" Thank you for giving me something to watch 🙌
00:40 best one
I'm jealous of all the time you have in the world to do so much work.
0:15 film an actual bouncing ball from that same angle and be shocked at just how different the real motion is. You gotta get closer to reality IMO 0:19 too fast. Slow it down to 50% speed and it's... hmm, better, but parts of it are still too fast. 0:23 brick falls much too fast. Needs more air time at the top. Again, try filming an actual brick falling like 8 feet or whatever and compare to see just how different it looks 0:36 not enough of a FWUMP as it hits the ground. I wanna FEEL the impact! FWUMP!!!! Overall still very impressive for just your 2nd week!

Woa thank you!! I really appreciate the criticism and i agree!! Tho the 1st one wasn't supposed to be a bouncing ball ahah, I was more focused on drawing the dangling part on an object that accelerates and then slows down :))

Yeah, I feel like the flour sack lacks a lot of squash and stretch with its falls. Also all the motions are very stiff. Although there seems to be very good understanding of proportions and how an object looks from all angles.
Great second week! Looks like you are pretty good at drawing in the first place, which is always helpful.
You made me happy with this video, please continue
seeing how good you already are shows how much work you're putting in. keep up the great work!

Heck yeah keep at it! I also just started like a month ago and I should get back to practicing the basics, threw myself into some elaborate rotoscope projects but its been fun and I've already learned a lot.

Animation is a lot easier than people make it out to be. Yes yes it takes time but look at what this person did in only 2 weeks!
Just found your channel. Great work! Inspiring! Gl

This is awesome! You’ve already made such great progress! May I ask what programs you’re using for drawing and animating?
Hi! Love to see a fellow artist along on there journey! What animation software do you use? Looks great keep it up!

すげぇ

So skillful. Im curious if I start to learn animation should I use toonboom? What software did you work on?
This is so good, sorry if it has been asked a lot but I can't find any comments, what program are you animating in?
I like these animations What program do you use? The last one is brutal btw
Do you have experience drawing before? Because this is good stuff
HOLYYY
These are wonderful. What program do you use to animate?

Omg love it! How are you learning on your own? Could you recommend tutorials etc??

Thanks! The very first tutorials I did were the beginner stuff from AnimatorIslandTV on youtube, it helped me understand how to work with timing and spacing (though i still struggle with it). Then I watched moderndayjames' animation basics video and just tried copying each frame of the simple animations. I also recommend the book "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams, it's such a good resource and very easy to read (i'm pretty sure you can find a free pdf online). (also in this video and the one from week 1, i linked the yt videos I referenced in the description) When I study I try to remember that the goal is to draw motion, not an illustration. Do not worry about each frame being drawn perfectly since they go by so fast. When I see an animation I like, I try to pause it and look at it frame by frame to understand how a specific movement is animated. And yea, I think for a beginner it is mostly about observation and copying what you see! Try to really understand what you are seeing and if you do an exercise, try to have fun with it and add a personal touch! Experimenting will help you think by yourself and absorb information faster! Good luck!
