Learn to Swim in Lockdown | How to Swim for Beginners | Lockdown Beginner Lesson 1

In this video I will take you through the first of the 5 stages that are needed in order to be able to put your head in the water. This tutorial is designed for children over the age of two years but is also helpful for anyone wanting to learn how to submerge their heads confidently in the water.
One of the most challenging aspects of swimming is holding your breathe under water, however if you practice these activities with your child everyday this week I guarantee your child will be able to place their head comfortably in the water by the end of my 5 week series.
Week 1: Putting your mouth in the water
Activity 1: Closing your mouth
Step 1: Teach your child to close their mouth
Step 2. Teach your child how to blow out
Step 3. Gently rub water over your child mouth and then have them blow out
Activity 2: Kissing the water
Step 1. Get your child to close their mouth
Step 2. Looking down get your child to "kiss"/touch their lips on the water
Step 3. Get your child to look up and blow out
Practice each activity 5-10 times each day for the next 7 days either in the bath or with a tub of water.
