I love your channel. I'm older and working against some disabilities. You are such an awesome teacher and player. Thanks you so much for helping all of us at many levels to learn GREAT songs. If you could teach JUST LIKE THAT, Bonnie Raitt or SEVEN YEAR ACHE, Rosanne Cash, I would be so happy. No one ever does Rosanne Cash songs. She is an amazing song writer. thank you again

Another winner Angela, thanks. Do you have "electric guitar strings" on your acoustic? Sure looks, (and sounds), like it. Love to hear any comment you might make regarding this.

2 things.... You're playing my favorite guitar a Martin SC 13-E. it's a beautiful thing isn't it. Also I thank you for a John Prine song. I'm an old slow learner (67 picking up the guitar after a 35 year hiatus) but I'm grinning and excited like I'm back in high school. Thank You.

Yes easy cords, but I love how you went through the riff, the D cord hammering, the strumming options. The all those extra nuances make it special. Thank you! Very sad song…. Also like how Susan Tedeschi plays it.

I'd like to share a "shortcut" to Drop D Tuning I recently came across. It only works if the Capo will be used on the second fret, like you have it for this tutorial. No tuning down of the low E string is needed if one simply covers just the A,D,G,B, & E strings with the capo leaving the low E to ring as an E. Viola, Drop D tuning with capo on 2.

I've been fortunate enough to see Bonnie a couple of times and John Prine several more, though never together. I missed my chance to see Angela so far, though...so I'm glad to find her here on Saturdays. Great lesson.

Fav Bonnie Rait (John Prine) song!!! Just saw Bonnie do it live this past Spring in ATL! Your version so authentic and true to the original, Angela! Beautiful voice you have too - you gotta sing on more of these! And you gotta come to the ATL! You were awesome in Nashville!

Including the lyrics would be a step closer to earning a copyright strike against the channel because lyrics are copyright. These riff rundowns are already borderline because teaching a guitar solo is melodic material therefore very close to copyright strike territory.

My friends like to jam this song all the time, it is one of their favorites, but their song charts are always a horrible horrible mess (originally printed from some site like ezchords) with pen scratch outs, no meter marks, no tempo mark, all chords x'ed out and rewritten to change to different tuning, etc.; they frequently get lost in the first play-throughs because "oh I can't read my own writing, let me figure out what it is" 🤦‍♀. Yet they never rewrite their song charts to make a clean copy. I will have to watch this riff rundown later in the week but I bet 100% that this lesson when I go through it, will correct all their mistakes. By the way all these jam friends have been playing for years yet still have this horrible horrible song charting discipline (i.e. no ability to do it correctly). Also by the way, one of them this past week said, "There is no E# . There is no such thing" when I was attempting to teach them intervals of the diatonic scale using the more complex example of key of A# . The legend lives on ! E# is Real !
