@@RequiemsACTL no issues! Will you also consider making videos covering the planes that are very similar compared to other packs? Like the A6 or G6 Late? Tho I don’t think it’s necessary, but I’m asking of a completionist point of view?

The Ju88 says "my landing gear takes a while to go up, almost 28 seconds" The I-16 simply says, "hold my beer and watch this"

LOL That is so true it hurts! Using the I-16 gear is painstaking...good thing we only need to press the G key once instead of multiple presses to crank them!

A very cool aircraft, even if it is going to be spending most of its time making craters with its face in the game. Unless you're lucky enough to have a dedicated and coordinated escort. Great video, as always. Still my go-to channel for getting familiarized with the new models as they pop up.

Cheers Thor, it's definitely good to fly and pretty enjoyable to actually have forward facing guns on it compared to the previous version in the sim.

Oh ok. Since the time we expect IL2 battle of Normandy. Do you know when it will be available for sale??

Hi Requiem thank you for all of your videos from a future CFI may I ask you where do you found all of these data regarding planes : best climb rate , takeoff/approach/landing speeds and so on. Is IL-2 has a manual operating handbook for each plane or did you simply test in Sim trail and error? Greetings from Romania and thank you once again for all of your videos.

Hi Dusty, I have data from the period manuals for the vast majority of these airplanes. There are a few I don't have and that's usually where I would rely on the technical specifications page.

I love the Il2-Series. But this hit E to start the engines and hit A for autopilot is so dissatisfying. In terms of simulated engine/system management I still find the old Cliffs of Dover better. Not to much like in DCS but complex enough to give you the feeling of mastering the machine. Very nice landing btw!

Yeah it's definitely not as engaging, but I kind of like that Il-2 just lets you focus on flying and fighting rather than trying to be a procedural simualtor. I just dislike that because of that approach the amount of keybinds gets way out of hand haha

And, if I understand you, I buy in pre-order IL2 Normandy and I can download the aircraft that have been updated recently like the Ju88 C6??

Yep. That is part of the Normandy planeset so you would receive the airplanes for it as it is released. Other airplanes are in other expansions you would need to buy separately.

Does it have a bomb-sight?

Nav lights middle, cockpit lights bottom… 😉

How do you fly on Il2 à Ju88 C6? Il is not available fot persuadé on Il2 Bos??

You need Il-2 Battle of Normandy, it's early access at the moment so you need to pre-order it

I wish i could buy Battle Of Normandy on steam any idea when it will come to steam? Great video man

@@5peciesunkn0wn it will take more than two months for sure. But you can always buy it on the developers webpage, and link it with your steam acount, that way you can play all the content launching the game on steam, and the developers get 100% of the money. Win-win

Requiem, great video as usual, isn't this plane just like the old 88 minus the air brakes and all that or are there any differences in the operation of it?

Yeah, no airbrakes in this one and in addition to the bombs you can actually do ground strafing and air-air in it with the nose mounted weapons. A good versatile option compared to the original version we have.

While these are nice they need more. These would work good in DCS Warbirds but here in IL2 it is basically all the same plane with tweaks to the math to make them "feel" different. The most important things are the turn speeds and such which aren't even covered. Just a suggestion because you do these so well I d like to see a bit more.

I understand what you mean. The turn speeds found in the video I just use straight from the tech specs page and throw them in the pilot's notes section which is good enough to get started as most of the WWII airplanes have the same speed range for best turn performance. I'm not that interested in conducting detailed flight testing of every aircraft for these basic familiarisation videos as it takes a lot of time to do right how I want. Doing that kind of testing I'd rather use for my EM chart comparisons.

@@RequiemsACTL Understandable. The EM charts are a better option. Just thinking so much time is spent on things that when you go to play all you ever do for interaction is hit the "E" key ;) Unlike DCS. Thanks for how ever you prefer to spend your efforts, it is much appreciated mate.
