You have to hand it to the guys that flew these and the like during the war. They would have needed wheelbarrows to haul their clankers around. And it is a fascinating era of flight. Still a brand new concept, but it was amazing how quickly it progressed in such a short period of time. Anyhow, excellent tutorial sir. As always.

If the forward gunner sat down out of the way, the pilot could see to take off and land, top speed was 97mph

Ahhhhh, the chalkboard TWO times in a day!! The thing I like about the Handley-Page is that a) The propellors are at the right end of the plane and b) The steering of the bloody thing is the right way around! By the way, what's she like in a dogfight?!! ;-)

Yeah I had a few videos to get out so figured I'd just keep dropping them....definitely not interested to learn about how to dogfight in this thing lol

Did the real thing have starters? need some people out there to spin the props?

I'm not sure many, if any, airplanes had their own dedicated starters onboard back then, so someone would be out there moving the propellers to initiate the start.

Is the speed OK? She really does 156 mph? Not kph?

Service ceiling? More like Service somewhere near the top of the countertops. A place you can only get after binge watching half of One Piece in your climb out to the IP. Looks bloody good at least. Might as well be a handsome aircraft if it could be intercepted by particularly angry buzzard.

Plus if you flew until the tank is empty you might get through one Lord of the Rings movie!

Yeah it's pretty poor but the plane is a monster compared to it's contemporaries...kind of amazing it even gets off the ground really!
