Huge improvement man. To be honest, I found it easier learning sat down. Standing up forces you to switch weight for each pedal stroke, making the bike sway. But sitting down allows you to centre yourself and relieve the pressure from both pedals at once, keeping the bike vertical.

It's funny how sometimes those with the epic skills for huge tricks suffer on the more subtle stuff. My main hobby is model flying and theres loads that can stir the sticks and throw the thing about in all sorts of crazy shapes, but get them to fly something fast, low and accurate and they go to pot. Meanwhile the rest of us will be flying in a tight 200mph group and we don't like things getting out of shape. If your muscle memory is set for one thing, it can stuggle with the other. Great vid

As a bmxer and perfoctionist i couldnt help mentioning spinning into your front foot out of a fakie is not usually the best habit to learn unless you are naturally goofy footed, since spining out of a 180 the oposit way u spun in is harder and often doesnt look as smooth.

Blake, I taught a 23 yr lass to ride a few years ago, who had never ridden as a child. I used an MTB with pedals off as a balance bike for her, but watched her fall sideways over and over. I had to study why she could not balance. Eventually, I realised that to balance you have to steer into the fall. I'm watching you ride fake exactly the same as she rode forward. Falling too far, then making huge corrective movements that go into occupation, out of control. Smaller movements earlier are the key. Today's challenge for me.....learn to fakie.

Just an added tip from a bmx rider who is starting to ride mtb if you have a local skate park that allows bikes go find a 4-5 quarter and just ride up do a little hop then start your fakie my opinion this is the easiest way you have more momentum then a stoppie to fakie or a stoppie against the wall to fakie my take your shins out a couple times but trust me this is the best way

When did this start being called a fakie? Coming from bmx, this was a roll-back. A fakie was riding up a quarter pipe leaving the ramp, then return backwards and roll back and turn/spin out. Confusing for us older riders!
