    Ooh…only now I realize all the details of this spin. Thanks Julia! Speaking of spins, I am preparing for my first comp in just less than 2 weeks now. My choreo has forward (at the end) and backward (at the beginning) scratches which I barely do from a still position. Yesterday, I finally got a “passable” back scratch in the program which got me a little emotional that I messed up every other element. 😂

    Oh my goodness, so relatable honestly. Congratulations on getting the passable back scratch. Hopefully that becomes consistent for you so that your competition goes smoothly.

    My sit spin has been a journey. It took me a long time to get it low enough to count. And I'm never as low as I think either. lol Can you cover the variations like broken leg, pancake, flying sit, etc?

  • @CoachJulia

    @CoachJulia

    I can absolutely cover variations. I've done the pancake, you can find it under the 'spin tutorials' playlist. But I will work on videos for the others!

    I can do teapots forwards and backwards, i can do one foot spins but only from a moving lunge, as soon as i try a proper entry i cant hook😢, i can do the crossovers, the windup, the forward outside edge i can hold it i just cant get it to tighten up and hook. Any tips? Im so sure i could do this if i can just figure out the hook 😞 my coach currently makes me do spirals into teapots back up and into lunges because my single leg squat is so strong i would love this exercise ifni could just figure out that damn hook.

  • @mariavirsa4502

    @mariavirsa4502

    Deepen your outside edge at the end of entry. Don't go around your left shoulder, think about nailing it to one point or even dropping it a bit, not much. Just shoulders must be free. And turn at one point, just turn 180 degrees and even more. I was struggling with this hook too but this is what helped me. Now I can do the hook, center my spin and enjoy. You'll get it too. I know how you feel, i felt so helpless too, watching my groupmates spinning and feeling that I will never learn it. But I did and so will you :)
