I wish the families that give their tree to Rockefeller Center, could light the tree during the Ceremony, instead of some Celebrity. Those family will have great memories of donating & pushing the button to their tree!🎄
It’s ok. Like groot, it will come back and grow from a seedling again. 🌱 By being part of the holiday season, it will bring hope and wholesome joy to many. I don’t celebrate Christmas but find it wonderful seeing others who do. The family did a nice gesture. Thank you, McGinleys!

I’m from the southern tier. Live here now. Sad to see the tree being cut down, but it will bring smiles to millions. Hopefully they planted a seed in its place for a new one to grow

The tree’s wood will be milled and donated to Habitat for Humanity after it is taken down.
Is it actually a”donation”?!!!! Lol I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What an honor to be part of history making memories
though it's beautiful tradition that tree standing there for centuries should have been protected... you should maybe grow them specifically for that on a special Christmas tree farm.
I love this story ..thank u for bringing joy and happiness x
The gift that keeps on giving ❤
Touchy feely no doubt, like American media is, but make no mistake. These people were paid handsomely to watch their tree be killed. Not enough to retire on but still an “undisclosed” amount. I checked and so can you.

Yo siempre he querido ir a ver ese árbol.
How is this cause for celebration? A beautiful old tree just cut down for a celebration lasting 1 month or so.
I used to live not far from Vestal and worked for WENY-TV news in Horseheads, NY. I shared this story with friends that live or worked there and the news director. Maybe it will be a local story!
What a waste. It made their yard look beautiful. And to give it away with no money in return? These people are not smart
Love the words of this family Bendiciones👏❤
The tree is stunning. 🎉❤
I HAVE WATCHED THESE TREES FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS AND THE WAY OUR WORLD IS GOING, THIS TREE MEANS MORE TO MILLIONS THAN EVER!!

Yes, but eating CO2 and giving back O2, to cut down a healthy any possibly a several hundred year old tree for a 1 month hooman celebration is a disaster imo, sad.
I couldn't have done it.. unless the tree was sick and dying there's no way I could have done it. 👎

Yes, it feels so wasteful. How many years did it take to grow this large?...only to be cut down for a single holiday season. 😢

No way could I chop down a beautiful old tree for one month or so of joy. Nope no way. No sense.

Awesome
It’s beautiful, but it will die after Christmas!😢
There's a Beautiful Ginormous Tree in Burbank, CA and it has to be OVER HUNDREDS OF YEARS! IT'S ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING! 😉🤗

Are you recommending they go and chop it down so it can be made gaudy for one month? Have you ever planted a tree? Do you know what it takes for them to get to that point?
@sonyadrake7843

@@randomcole619 ABSOLUTELY NOT AND THE FOLKS OF BURBANK WOULDN'T ALLOW IT!
Cool that it’s donated. Even better that they’re not paying thousands of dollars to have it removed if that was their long time intention!
That’s extremely sad. That tree lived an amazing life and for status it will be killed.

Makes no sense to chop a historic old healthy tree to use for a display for a month

Personally I am bummed for that tree, it was a healthy giant creature, living a great life, and now it's dying and will be dead soon. Hoomans ruining life on earth for all living things.
Greetings ro all of you .l love you all❤❤❤❤🌈🌈🌈🌈🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿
My mom lived in vestal. She has passed but would have loved this moment. Her name was Barbara Hartman if anyone knows her or her fsmily. This is her daughter Barbare Answer in the reply if you are watching this video. ❤😊❤😊

The Trafalgar Square tree in London donated every year by Norway goes mostly to help marram grass grow on sand dunes and protect against erosion and loss of natural habitat

I heard that they cut it up and give the wood to Habitat for Humanity. That's just hearsay though.
They should pay people foe these trees. After all it's not like they can't afford to
The tree is a symbol of Christmas not of holiday season!
👏👍🌲🎄
How much
No they should, keep the tree in they’re yard
The tree is going to die though it's so pretty. 80 years old

Ok Binghamton
For anyone who’s gonna complain about them cutting down the tree, don’t worry Rockefeller Center and the city never waste the trees….they get chopped down into timber pieces and used to build new homes.

Anyone ask the tree what it thinks? Arborcide. It was hanging out for 84 years and then guys with a chain saw came along and it was all over.

They wasted it when they cut it down. Mulching it means very little.
Seems like it was kind of a risk to their house anyway. They are probably happy to get rid of it for insurance purposes. That monster would have destroyed their house given the right storm/situation.
jawor
So sad to see this beautiful tree relegated to a limber pile . And they don’t even give them any money to replace it with a new generation of tree to replace it
So yet again the Rockefellers get all the glory, the actual donor gets absolutely nothing, kinda how the Rocks have prospered through their history. The donors should be paid for the tree.
No afence to anyone. But a big tree like that donated wow New York is one of the richest states in the US. At least give the family a fat donation for they can fill the spot were there is a big gap.
Personally I am bummed for that tree, it was a healthy giant creature, living a great life, and now it's dying and will be dead soon. Hoomans ruining life on earth for all living things.
2024.friday fifth janiary of 2024 . Greetings All of you at mainly David Rokfeller and David Rkefeller junier.
example of humans thinking they own everything. so sad to cut the tree down.
