I have several lessons planned to help you learn to improvise on guitar. What sort of lead guitar stuff do you need help with?

Bluesy-rock-ballady…. Not exactly a ‘recognized genre’. Lol
“You will never learn to play guitar with scales!” Says the guy on the guitar commercials. James you as always played better than “good”and made a great lesson.

I’m 55 and new to playing the guitar. What a great lesson. Thank you ❤
Lots of Johnny Winter in the opening solo. Bravo!
Thank you for this awesome explanation! Breaking things down and highlighting basic principles like this is really helpful.
I just want to Thank You SOOO much for this video lesson. I've always had some issues following the Scales, but yours are easy to follow and right in Point. And I Really Love the Blues sound. I used to play half decent back in my 40's, but after Heart surgery forgot most of it. Starting taking lessons at age 70, and a bunch of it is coming back. This lesson will make me even Better. You Rock!!🎼🎶🎸
A superb lesson...where even the greatest musicians on U Tube have not explained it so easily.,... Thank you so much 👍 👍
Can you make a video about how to switch from open chords to barre chords thankyou
Thanks James. I always enjoy your lessons. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making them.
Wow! I’ve been playing predominantly Acoustic for quite a long time. I got say, this video and the way you break this down, you’ve made me curious about picking up my Electric again! Thanks! Please keep these Vids coming, they’re very helpful and so easy to follow! Very Good Job! Thank you James!

Wow , I’ve been playing guitar on and off for years. I play open chords fine. But I always wanted to learn the neck . I didn’t understand what scales were all about and couldn’t understand videos explaining them. So far I’ve watched half of this video, and it’s so clear. You make it fun and understandable sir . Count me in! Thank you
You are such a great teacher, this lesson gave me better insight into the pentatonic scale. Thank you so much !
As an educator I really appreciate how you took a what could easily be a complex idea and found a way to explain it so clearly and succinctly! I was wondering what/if there is any benefit to learning the other patterns for the minor pentatonic scales?
Perfect lesson
Very good lessons! I learn a lot faster with your videos than with any others. Keep it up.
Awesome information. I have had problems with scales because they didn't make sense to me. Now I understand so much better because of this lesson. Thank you

Thanks a lot for this new lesson
Great explanation! Thanks!
Good lesson on scale dear teacher. Thank you. Best wishes
Excellent!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for breaking it down
THANK YOU
Good stuff!
I would love a course that helps me make little songs/riffs from one pentatonic scale at a time, such as the A-. Then I could move it around. Plus I’d like to see some tangible course content for the lead guitar course, esp for beginner. All too often these courses are just beyond me: simple and basic.
You are really outstanding good guitarist.
Much appreciation!!!
Very helpful
Iam impressed what a great teacher

Hey, I really appreciate the support and your thoughts on this video. Do you play acoustic or electric?
Omg! Mind blown! Ok so question then what are these other shapes of the minor pentatonic I’ve seen from other KZread channels? You have explained this the best and now a subscriber added!
Hey! A I am a novice player, but had an “ah” moment with the A and F#m explanation. :>).. very good..
this is the Rosetta Stone of guitar! thanks for these excellent nuggets
You said you were putting a backing track below, but I don't see it. This is a very helpful demo/lesson. Thank you.
Such a great lesson thanks so much. What would be the next step after this is achieved? Also wondering if you do zoom or in person lessons? I’m in the Vancouver area, thanks again.
Please teach us exactly what you are doing in the intro. I know it's the pentatonic scale just want to learn how to apply it in an application like you are playing. Thanks!
Hey James, hi from Brisbane Australia - just wanted to say thank you for your great work and the simplicity with the way you communicate information - I am a late starter (58yo) so the simpler the better - anyway thanks mate - Liked and Subscribed (just don't do anymore videos in that white singlet/vest 😛)
i never leave comments and i doubt you will see this but you are one of the nicest people in the world, and this lesson is the first i have found that actually makes any sense and helped me out a lot. gg

Hello, are you James as well? In fact I did see this and I was very happy to read it. You are so welcome and I wish you a good day and many more days of it all making sense. I am here to be your guide.
As a simple complement, I believe it would be helpful if you quicly mentioned the chords from the back up guitar ( backing track) This way we could practice with a friend also. Just a thought! Thanks!
Lovely, very open minded couple..down to earth.
That’s such a helpful video James so thank you.. May i ask please.. There doesn’t seem to be so much emphasis here when playing the frets with the tips of the fingers as there has to be when playing chords.. Asking as a relative beginner, is that true? are you using the fleshy end of the fingers rather than the tips? Thanks NOODLES
Would he make a difference if I change my chords in to my acoustic guitar iam thinking to put extra light chords can you tell me if it's a good idea and the benefit
Link to the backing track please
I just learned something lol
