This is awesome; I'm sicilian so I'm glad this channel is here. Anyone have any ideas for a video?
LOVE LOVE LOVE this channel. I am a siculo-americano. My father and three of my grandparents came from Marsala and my paternal grandfather came from Palermo. I noticed that some of the words were pronounces different than what I am used to hearing in Palermitano and Marsalese. Is this a dialect of Eastern Sicilian from Catania?
I like arancini. I went to a Sicilian festival in London. I could never forget the delicious arancini. I’m a learner of Italian and some of my friends are from Catania. I’ve read and listened to Sicilian poetry. Lovely language. I must travel to Sicily in my next Italian trip
Fantastic!
I ❤️ Sicilian food. It’s delicious 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Love this! Thank you
Racina is actually pronounced /rah-SHEE-na/ or perhaps “rascina” in Italian orthography. Same for acitu, which is /ah-SHEE-too/. The vowels in these videos make it seem like the dialect of Enna or Caltanissetta: cutiddu (cuteddu), ugghiu (ogghiu), uvu (ovu), etc.

I started learning Sicilian along with my Italian studies. I see what you mean and it's difficult for me.....the Italian I speak is with Roman pronunciation with the "CHEE" sound, and when speaking Sicilian I try to use the "SHEE" sound where appropriate.

Yes indeed, one of the distinguishing orthographic features of Sicilian pronunciation - (ci or xi = shee) (cci = chee) As opposed to the Italian "ci/cci" which is almost always "CHEE" and "sci" is pronounced "shee"

Well, in my dialect I would pronounce them with a "ch"

Chi sacciu!
Well, we in Sicily don't say cannola, u cannolu = the cannolo (singular), and certainly not cannolis as plural! Cannoli itself is plural!!!
The delivery is awful.
