PERFECT TUTORIAL MAAAN. Clean, direct and exhaustive. As a programmer I found this tutorial really straight to the point

I'm a beginner, just starting out. With zero knowledge on IT, I find this absolutely simple to comprehend. Amazing! That said, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are just beginning to go online with our ecommerce business. I dabbled in HTML5 back in college so this has been a huge help in my journey to do little things like change a font size here, or other adjustments that simply are not available through the basic shopify interface. Of all the Shopify "tutorial" vids on KZread, I found this very informative! I've leveled up in a matter of a month or so, and now, I think I'm getting to the intermediate/advanced level. Glad that I have a Ruby (on Rails) background!

So helpful and easily explained, thanks! I'm looking to make some improvements to a theme I purchased. I am already a developer and know some html and css. I bought a theme that was supposed to be built for conversions, some time ago before making a proper research because some shopify "experts" recommended it. Turns out those "conversion" stuff (like scarcity or social proof pop up) look horrible so they need some work as well! It has SO MANY downsides for everyone who wants to make a customization because it seems they patched lots of parts and code is a nightmare. Even the sections and blocks are difficult to understand, you would expect for example header or footer parts to be customized in only one section but parameters are distributed all over the place. Makes me so angry because I payed 160usd. Still, some little parts are better than free themes that's why i'll give it a try to at least understand better the structure and practice for future theme fixes. I recommend nobody buys Shoptimized theme.

Hey Joy, nice meeting you and thanks for your detailed feedback 😁 I could really feel your anger towards that theme. Haven´t worked with shoptimized in particular, but have seen some catastrophic themes in the past too :-) Codewise I think Flex by out of the Sandbox is state of the art, but it´s also quite pricy. I also like most of the debut theme´s code. Pretty sure you´ll make things work :-)
