Very nice Max. I recently returned to visit my childhood hometown, which I left 54 years ago when I was 11 years old. Have lived in another country and continent, for nearly 50 years so it was amazing to be able to see it. So many places still existed, like my school and old home. I even knocked on the door and they let me in to look around! The school administrator gave me a whole tour which was wonderful. I also remembered old school friends and funny experiences I had. I was able to find my way around walking the streets, almost as if I had never left. Am learning Russian, little by little and find it fascinating and would love to visit. Hope things settle down soon over there in your part of the world.

It's crazy in how little time I went from your speech being way too fast and me not knowing many of the words to the speed being normal and me only finding half a dozen new words in each video. I am curious about the translation of детский сад as "kindergarten"... Maybe it's different in Europe, but in the US, Kindergarten is part of _school_ with instruction just like in grades 1-12. Meanwhile, “day care“ (with, or without the word "center" following it) is a lot closer to детский сад we are so used to growing up in Russia/USSR.

Kindergarten is definitely детский сад :) In goid chunk of Europe "pre-school" is part of school, but not kindergarten.

@@papercut6020 well, again, in the US, Kindergarten _is_ part of school (it's, basically, the "0" grade). So, you would _not_ translate it as детский сад, because детский сад in the Russian understanding has never been part of school, conceptually, or location-wise. In the US, a Day Care Center and Preschool overlap a bit in terms of age, but could both be translated as детский сад. And yes, Day Care that is _specifically_ for babies should be translated as ясли. Sounds like it's different in Europe though 🤷

Должно быть, это был травмирующий опыт, когда меня дважды ограбили в таком юном возрасте.

У меня на дисплей Смартфона вдруг появились две разные даты, одна -сегодняшняя, а вторая, ошибочная, это 15-ое юня! Очень странное явление! Итак, не знаю, под данным видео у меня написано , но с другой стороны мне кажется чуть чуть странно, что ты в это время года гуляешь по Питеру в жакете! Но м.б. ошибаюсь! Словом, мне непонятно, я синхронно смотрю, или нет! Так или иначе, значит, вы наконец вернулись в Россию! Но насколько понимаю не надолго, да?...! Буду слушать твои подкасты по мобилизации.... даже если мне плохо слышать о таких неприятностях! ... (употребляла тактичное выражение!) Пока.

Будет интересно послушать подкасты. Мы уехали в Аргентину в 2001ом году, мне было 14 лет, так что подростковый возраст в 2000х там мне не пришлось испытать 😅

@@TheShadowOfYours я не знаю что и сказать. Это всё личное. Если я из Аргентины попаду в Германию, я впаду в депрессию. Я привыкла к нашей свободе, к тёплому климату (здесь есть и холодные пояса, но меня туда ничем не заманить). Всё остальное может приводить к стрессу, но с чем можем, боремся. Стараемся оставаться людьми, боремся за права людей и не только, а всё остальное идёт своим чередом.

В России все школы только с номерами. А вот университеты могут носить имена каких-то учёных.

Иногда школы в России носят имена героев вместе с номером. Например я в городе Орёл учился в Школе номер 20 имени Гуртьева.

What you showed about Petersburg was better than I expected. So much space, so not crowdy, so clean, no grafitti, no trash and such beautiful nature. The trees are so beautiful and peaceful, so healthy and fresh. I cannot point one single area in the Netherlands here with that quality of nature. And all described would be the other way round in kindlike area's here. It was so peaceful. So normal. But that normal I do not know here. Yes some traffic, but... We do not have this here. I thought it would be grim, older and more depressing. So good to see the truth. Russia is pictured in a very wrong way here in the media, for all my live. I already knew everthing about the politics we are told is a lie, but now I discovered an other one.. My deepest apologize to you and your people, I am so ashamed that from our money our country sends weapons to destroy you, and send a lot money to that Azov American puppet in Ukraine and participates in all those "sanctions" in which we sadistically try to force your country not to be normal. Of course you cannot accept the treaths on your borders. If you let this builing of power against Russia too far, soon there is no Russia. For me it is even sensibly painful, because we want to be friends with you country for many years. And it always gets destroyed by EU and US/ Nato. They force you even into war. And then Russia gets the blame. But is has not. You would sell gas to us, but our governments dare not to do otherwise than their American masters want and destroy every possibility of goodness. They are so smart in getting their way: that Europe and Russia do not become friends. Never do I want to support EU against Russia, I would rather help Russia. Yes, the better side. The light is not with us. Never bring you children to EU countries to raise them there. You do not know what your dealing with. They are not safe. If I told you more, you would not believe me. I am sure everyone is ashamed of you speaking such nonsense. The country that invaded another, tried to illegally annex its territory while commiting genocide and torture is "the good side" you should think before such stupid utterances. I have penpals in Russia for years and I got to find out sooo many things this way, that I never would otherwise. It's thought provoking when you realise that we are and how much we are brainwashed in our schools against Russia, and basically for nothing. I mean those are not our goals or wishes, it's just sucking up to US.

@@jelenad6367 I agree about the anti-Russian propaganda etc but their antiwest narrative there is twice as bad. The thing is when the wall fell they could have reformed themselves, joined the Geneva convention etc but instead they continued their chauvinism, ideas if grandure, mass corruption and rule through force and fear with a view to reforming the USSR. Unfortunately their history of brutality and torture never became a history but a continuum.
