I’m Irish that’s not part of any accent in Ireland , he modified the word for the song he doesn’t go around pronouncing chance that way in any of his songs in heartbreak weather and nobody substitutes the a sound for o in Ireland

We are so sick of people saying we do because Niall modified the word for a song and now everybody who has never been to Ireland never heard any Irish person other than Niall speak thinks they know exactly how we speak. Niall doesn’t say chonce once in heartbreak weather or when speaking outside of singing . Please stop assuming that is how we speak

I love all of 1D’s accents, but I think my favorites are Louis’ and Niall’s. Maybe you should do Ozzy Osbourne’s Birmingham accent next!

In fact only some Irish people say 'dis dat dese and dose', it is a feature that other irish people deplore. We had a Prime Minister (Taoiseach) who spoke like that and everyone made fun of his accent - he had elocution lessons to correct it, but never managed to. Very few people, however, pronounce the 'th' sound exactly as English people do, it is usually a little harder, more dentalized, but not to the extent that it is implied here.

Other accent analysing suggestions: 1 . Simon Cowell 2. Dua Lipa 3. Emilia Clarke 4. Cara Delevingne 5. James Corden🤩 6. Joe Alwyn 7. Lily Collins And finally it would be so funny if you take a crack at your own accent🤩🤩

There is a video of Niall that I think has the thickest accent he has ever had. It's a video of him with his cousin playing rugby in the hotel and I used to not be able to understand it but now after many years of hearing Niall I can. Great Video!!

That's what happens with all accents when people move away but, speaking from experience, it's amazing how fast they revert to their accent when speaking to others from their home town/country. Harry has lost most of his Cheshire accent now, and is very Americanised, due to spending most of his time there

I improved my listening thanks to this series. And Louis is my favorite, that accent is the reason I discovered your channel, I need to understand why sometimes I could understand him.

This video made me to realize that my accent is not just a blend of RP and GA, but also has some irish features as well.

As A Directioner Myself I Just Wanted To Say Thank You So Much For These Videos I've LOVED Them💕, Harry's Accent Is My Favorite To Listen To I Find It Quite Calming And Soothing It's Just Generally A Delightful Sound To My Ears. 💓💓💓💓💓

I love Ireland and Irish people. They're great. I remember once I was in western Ireland and we ask directions to a countryman and he only could speak Gaelic and it was awesome to listening to their traditional language

It would be worth looking into old niall videos. When he was younger is Irish accent was thicker and more consistent :)

I've noticed when a "t" comes at the end of a word, Irish people don't quite pronounce it, or don't pronounce it all the way. It's not the glottal stop, it's different.

3:14 The changing for TH sound back to a D sound is largely dependent on the word you just said beforehand. I say hings instead of things, however if I am beginning the sentence with the word things I keep the th. Source: I'm Irish

Appreciate - Niall is the only person i've ever heard say it with the "c" sound. Everyone else uses the "š" sound. When i first heard it during their show, i was like "wait, what did he just say???''

I probably like listening to Niall or Louis voice and accent most but i love all the boys accents and how that talk at different speeds

Louis and Zayn's accent is my favourite for sure, the stronger the better!

Wow, thank you very much for inviting John and analyzing the Irish accent. The Irish accent sounds very friendly. I really enjoyed watching this video. Thank you, Tom and John.

Thanks so much! May I suggest taking a look at the two Carpool Karaoke clips that Harry Styles did with James Corden? The first was mid-2017 and the second one was filmed in late 2019. It would be interesting to compare and contrast their accents. A stand alone analysis of James Corden’s accent would be good as well. My sense is that both Harry and James have “lost” their original accents due to spending a lot of time in the US. Quick note about altering your accent - I was raised by a dad with a neutral US accent, a mother from Atlanta, lived in Houston for most of my life and now have lived in Virginia for 20 years. My accent is heavily influenced by other people or situations. If I am talking to someone with a prominent US southern accent, I will go right into speaking with one as well. If I am giving a professional presentation, I make sure to neutralize my accent and remove the “southernisms”.
