Any way to turn off the annoying 3 second countdown when starting a load? Why can't I just push start and be done?

It is built in the system,but you might accidentally press start and not notice so that's why

We have this same model Maytag Washer and the matching dryer. We bought almost 2 years ago. a few months ago I had to replace the fan/blower on the dryer (free parts warranty but the labor was just under $400. The parts were less than $25, if I remember correctly - plastic (lol). This week, my washer will turn on, but none of the other control 'buttons' will respond to touch. I'm dreading this repair bill.

Just a heads up before you buy this, There's no access to change the filter. You'll have to lift the washer every time.

I hate that the optimal dose dispenser does not have an OFF option. Sometimes you wish to wash a load with a different detergent-like a detergent made for delicate clothes or maybe you wish to switch to powder (in the drum). There’s no way to do this if your husband poured 14 ounces of liquid Tide into the dispenser. Stinks. I just put enough detergent into the dispenser for each load and trying to train my husband to do the same. It’s not perfect but better than risking too much detergent in your wash cycle and having a SUDS issue. Stupid design. And you can’t put powder into dispenser-must put in bottom of drum before adding clothes. Also hate that the white wash cycle takes 2:43 minutes!!!

My complex replaced a washer with a Maytag front loader looks like this - the only problem is my my eye sight can't read the instructions they taped to it. I need the instructions on the computer so I can magnify them. So I use the older top loader that is simple to use.

Have same model washer, it stopped working just shy of 3 years. Have been waiting 3 months for electric control part! Awful service from Platinim Factory Service and Maytag (Whirlpool). NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY
