Learn Metric Units & Unit Conversions (Meters, Liters, Grams, & more) - [5-8-1]
More Lessons: www.MathAndScience.com
Twitter: / jasongibsonmath
In this lesson, you will learn the units of the metric system and how the metric system is organized. We will learn the units of length (meters, centimeters, kilometers), units of volume (liter, milliliters), and units of mass (grams, kilograms). Once we understand the metric prefixes and how they work, it is easy to know how these units relate to each other. Using these conversion factors, we will convert from one unit into another unit using dimensional analysis. Dimensional analysis is used for unit conversions, but it is also used in physics, chemistry, engineering, and math to solve more complex problems.

I just want to say god bless you because I finally actually learned how to do conversions. In 2019, I withdrew from my bio and chem class because I could not understand conversions and you were able to actually help me. what an angel! I think I'll finally pass my classes this year!Thank you!!

Boy! Thank God for KZread. All these long class room time, you want tell me it takes this simple explanation under short time to learn something that had make me sweat and cry wolf? Now a day you learn so much on KZread than actual class room time. Thank you so much sir.

Bless your heart Sir, you are the teacher of all teachers in this field. I am no longer confused. Thank you.
I just started my chemistry class, it’s a 12 week course but I am taking it in a 6 week session and this really saved my life. Since we have to scheme through all the topics sitting aside and learning this separately helps me understand much better.
Thank you! I finally learned how to do convertions properly. I was having trouble with doing convertions for the past few months. Now I understand it better and can do problems. I really appreciate your help:)
Finally, I can understand! Using tactile and visual methods make all the difference for us visual learners! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I like math with Mr. J But he is also good
I learned so much in 32 minutes than weeks of teachings at school. simplicity is key and this has definitely built my confidence in unit conversion
I have been struggling with these conversions in physics for engineering without understanding but you just open it clearly in a few minutes, you deserve God's protection, you're the best Sir!
Hello! I'm from an ABM course but I decided to shift and take Biology. College has been really difficult since Biology focuses on chemistry and all that stuff that ABM doesn't study. However, thanks to you, I think I'll be able to cope and get okay grades. I just wanted to thank you really.
Your style of teaching metric conversion is the BEST I have had so far. I am in a Math 104 college-level class and couldn't get anything that was taught on this subject. I send one afternoon with your class and NOW I get it. You are the best metric conversion teacher I have experienced (no dis to my math teacher, I just didn't get it with her). Thank you again.
Omg! You are the first teacher to help me to understand this! The comments above are right!
You are simply the best, Feynman in our time, simplifying the simple confusing stuffs to the very simplest, God bless you for your great work.
Thank you for your lecture. I am a college student taking online anatomy and physiology class and watching your video helps me with my assignments.
thank you so much I have one week trying to learn but I can't understand but thanks bc for this video I understand so well. Great explanation!!!!
God bless you, the way you teach math is so unique that I always search for your video on every math topic.

It was the most wonderful video i had ever seen. When i was in Junior High School i could not learn well especially on this topic. Now i fully understand the meanings of the prefixes of the metric units. Your video had guided me in doing my assignment. Thank you en God Bless.
You are doing better teaching for us my friend, you are great teacher. How you explained things in details.Thank you for your time, especially for us in Solomon islands.II love your channel.
This video is so helpful! Before finding this video I was freaking out about how I am able to understand conversions to pass my chem class but now I feel more confident! Thank you!

Thank you so much you saved my life because i did not know anything and i have a Test in less than 17 hours!!!! thankyou
I have never been able to understand conversions, with hours of practicing words problems, active recall with flash cards. the concept has never computed properly. but just 5 min into your video I am able to FULLY DIGEST and COMPREHEND the meaning between conversions. Finally, after years of practice I can easily understand what these words problems are ASKING.

I have to study for my forensic technician interview and we have to know the metric system. This is really helping, thank you!!
I'm done... I feel like that was one of the single most OG things I've ever witnessed... Thank you sir.
you are the best teacher ever
I once had the privilege to go to a skidoo safari with a couple of US university professors here in Europe. We needed to make a 2,5% gas oil mix for the skidoos and it was entertaining to watch 2 professors first convert and then try to calculate the ratios with imperial units... We had two 10 liter canisters of gas and a liter of two stroke oil each. They ended up just pouring an estimated amount of oil into each gas canister. For me it was easy, 0,25l (2,5dl) oil to 10l gas is about 2,5%.
@WojciechChojnacki
3 жыл бұрын
0,25l oil with 9,75l gas is 2,5% oil rich mix (since 10l total is 100%), but I guess 10l gas and 0,25l oil should be close enough (2,439024390243902%).

best teacher ever In the world
Thank you for making this so easy to understand.
Older folks probably have more trouble with this than younger folks. I think in the 80's I started seeing 2 liter coke and pepsi bottles. Then we had 5K road races which is just a tad over 3 miles. I grew up on miles and ounces but I have adjusted somewhat! This is a very important class for sure!
Your video was so helpful
Sir, Your teaching is excellent. May I request that you teach the unit conversions using the unitary method also f or much easier understanding. It will show when to multiply or divide. Please see example to understand what I mean Eg 1 centimeter = 10 millimeters Therefore 12 mm = ? centimeter In this case, you can clarify when to multiply and when to divide Can you show this example in your teaching. Thank you very much
excellent video. thank you!!!!!!!
