I paraphrased a lot above but also just watched the scene here again and noticed with Antonio Margarete, Landa after getting him to repeat his own name three times then actually pronounces his name for him in the correct Italian ("Margheriti")🤣🤣🤣 I hadn't noticed that before

dave ng this is normally used to add emphasis onto something. In a way Americans would understand it would be like saying “totally” with your hands
I remember watching this at the cinema and when Landa started to speak fluent Italian everyone was like „uff, they’re fucked” 💀😆

Actually the weirdest part is when he says "Buongiorno" in the beginning (which is a greeting you would use during the day) when it's clearly evening. A real Italian would say "Buonasera".

My favorite part of this is the inverse of their Italian knowledge. Just before this scene Raine said he was fluent yet has by far the worst accent. Donny said he knew a little and accurately has an okay accent. And Omar who said he only knew a few words does a spot-on accent.

Christoph Waltz, he was awarded an oscar for his performance in this movie. Another outstanding movie with him is 'Django Unchained' if you want more of his wit and charisma.
